3 Panteras in one year????? I don't think I'd consider that a positive endorsement. :party-smiley-004:

You idiot I still have 2 of them. So why is that negative endorsement... sell that apache yet?

Thank you for the plug 88bullet.
The 28 Apache is a great boat, which is why I only had to buy one 28. The 28 Apache has many advantages over the 28 pantera. Its a much better balanced boat with twin big blocks and doesn't have any porpoise. You don't need to use the trim tabs and I haven't for the past 2 years. Its not a "drivers boat" that requires constant driver input; its a relax and sip your drink while the boat drives itself kind of boat. I bought the boat from a guy on the Chesapeak Bay who also owned a 28 pantera. He said the pantera rides more on top of the waves whereas the apache just crushes them. Thats a good description of the difference in ride; I've been on both boats with twins. The 28 Apache thinks its a 35ft boat. It has much more freeboard. Unlike the pantera where the dash wiring is exposed to the cockpit, and thus the elements, access to the helm is in the cabin; protected from the elements. You can sit in the cabin while working on the helm, not that I ever had to do any work to the dash. Cabin is much bigger and comfortable. It has more headroom and the base of the cabin berth and seats are gelcoated, unlike the pantera. The apache also sports a fridge and large dry storage plus bottle holders. The engine bay is huge, big enough for twin 850's without modifying the hatch. I weigh 220lbs and can sit on the floor of the bilge in front of the motors. Cockpit floor and cabin are littered with probably a dozen different access hatches providing for easy access to stringers. The bow has a huge anchor locker, big enough for a small kid. Any serious buyers are welcome to look at the boat any time. I can help with transport to and from the airport. I can also provide free lodging on beautiful Lake Texoma. Serious buyers will be greeted with a beer and a smile:coolcowboy: Don't listen to 88bullet, I've never met or talked with him or any of his friends. There are members on this forum who are friends and clients of mine that are much more credible if you want a reference. I'd much rather post this on the Apache forum, but if you guys are going to talk chit about about my boat on your forum then I will be happy to defend the boat on the same forum. |
Hesus Tex. You seem like a good guy but give it a rest.
|
Forgot to mention top speed. Lol !!!!
& that it makes revenue during the week pulling barges !!! Seriously....looks like a ok boat but jeeezzzz |
noone bashed your boat til YOU picked apart everyone elses trying to sell yours.... noone in the PANTERA forum gives a sh!t about your apache. nor cares for your opinion. btw many people asked if i would sell my twin and i was nice enough to throw a plug for your apache but you shoot yourself in the foot with your words of wisdom on the forums. and i will break it down for you about me having 3 pantera boats!! 1st one...96 single. loved the boat but i wanted twins after i blew an outdrive in a poker run and had to get towed and the twins are a little faster sold it.. 2nd...94 twin see reasons above.. still have it.. wont sell it... 3rd... rare 6 pack race boat... got a motor and drive for it.. having a little trouble finding time to work on it but wil be running soon. cool fun rare race boat with some history. 500hp might go in it but thinking about a hawk 600 i have to fill the blower hatch. we will see... i wish i had my 96 still it was a great boat and alot of fun i just couldnt swing keeping 3 boats all at once. im not donald trump. im just a 31 yr old GM mechanic..but hey my stuff runs always runs and runs good. still got the apache for sale??

It took delsols boat a long time to sell as well, longer than mine has been for sale. Half the boats in the classifieds have been for sale longer than mine. These boats take a long time to sell in TX. I watched a 1999 pantera sit for sale in Dallas for 5 years and that was when the economy was good. I've got no problem enjoying this boat for 5+ more years. Only reason this one hasn't sold is because I'm not giving it away. I've had lots of offers and I'm sure more than a few members on here can vouch for that. |
Previous post from the Pantera basher himself
TexomaPowerboater : Begin quote " [Biggest differences I see are: 1) 28 Apache is a heavier boat than 28 Pantera by about 500 lbs in a twin setup. I know the 28 Apache's weigh in at 7,000lbs, I believe the pantera 6500. The newer 28 apaches do weigh a lot less and can be run with a single, but a newer one would be alot more than an AT 2) Cockpit in the pantera is bigger than AT and apache. All are big enough to overnight in. 3) Bilge in the pantera is bigger than AT and apache. AT has made like 2 28's with twins, one with sbc's; they are designed more for single engine applications. 4) Cabin in apache and AT are bigger than the pantera, and both have significantly more headroom. AT also has a head while the apache and pantera do not. 5) Freeboard in Apache and AT are both higher than the pantera. 6) Only 60-70 28 apache's ever made. I should be able to say a little more when I take delivery of my 28 apache in a week or so. I've heard mixed things on the comparison of ride. The guy I'm buying mine from also had a 28 pantera with triple OB's (PowerplayDave). He thought the apache was a much better ride; he said the pantera rode on the water and the apache crushed the water. But of course he was selling me the boat...............so who knows. You can't go wrong with either. I wanted a 28 pantera or saber, but ended up finding a great deal on a 28 apache. So in the end - I guess the money was what mattered most between the two boats If money was no object - I'd have the pantera because they've made alot of them for a long time and have and continue to have success both on and off the race course. The company only made two boats the 24 and 28 up until just a few years ago. I think apache is best know for its 41 warpath, pantera - 28 and 24, saber - 28 and 41.] " End quote Just as I figured. He wanted a Pantera......lol:evilb::lolhit: |
Dang Tomcei are you really taking delivery of a scalp taker? You ready for all the rumors and other scandalous inuendoes? LOL. Seriously though, if you did buy one where is it from? Just curious if it was the one I saw a few weeks ago.

I happen to like my boat just the way it is. Never really though about slamming some other boats just because I don't like them as much as mine. Good thing there is Chocolate and Vanilla ice cream out there. |
Ahh... didn't see the quote when I first read it. Either way fuk it! Both are damn cool rides.:)

That's the funniest thing I've read in a bit. Thanks for the highlight action !!!!

I mean really how many of you actually like the fact that the guts of the helm are exposed to the cockpit? Don't you think there is some room for improvement there? When I research a boat I'm really not interested in positive comments. If I did I'd just go straight to the builders website. How the hell is the builder supposed to improve on his product if you can't provide constructive criticism? |

Just because you don't like it doesn't make it a flaw. Certainly "everything" could be improved to some degree , that goes for your Apache as well! |
if i wanted a cabin cruiser with 8 feet of headroom and storage for a small army i would have bought one

Really Texoma, comparing these two boats??? It's like your comparing your boat to a baja. You can't compare them, but you talk like Panteras are garbage. These two boat builders are legends with excellent reputations (performance wise). I have a Pantera, but love Apaches. If I had an Apache, I would still love Panteras. I would take either boat and prob be extremely happy.
I would love to have your boat, but am not in the market. however, there have been plenty of 28 Panteras that I would love to have too. I could point out plenty of things I don't like about your boat, but that would be disrespectful and not really relevant; just nit picky. The Panteras do seem to sell quicker. Anyway, would never think of going on the apache board and talk **** on their boats. Really not cool to do here, since both boats have excellent reputations. You know, when a Python guy posts on this board, the Pantera guys are gracious and do not talk smack to point out any differences, short comings, etc. We show respect and help them out in any way we can. Not saying Python is not a good boat, but there are differences that could be pointed out. No need to, as the Pantera guys are always ready to lend a hand and give positive feedback. Hell, I almost bought a python. Just kind of pisses me off when someone talks smack, just to talk smack. Not the first time I have seen you do it. Don't really care that you do it, but feel you are out of line here. Go talk smack on Panteras on the Apache board. I would actually be interested in what the Apache boys would say. :signs043: |
