Ilmor MV8 570's

Hey guys, new to the forums here, and this section. Not new to pantera and offshore racing. The ol man and I have been into it and fans of offshore boats for years. Ran a 38 scarab KV back in the day that was orange and white, with the race hatches and twin big blocks. TRS drives with the old speed masters. His friend had a 24' race Pantera that was orange and was named "whipper snapper" and I just remember that boat was and have been hooked since.

Just saw these on and interesting side note... Ilmor MV8 570's small blocks. It's based off the light weight, LS engine from GM. Cast Iron block, aluminum heads, freshwater cooled. would be killer in a 28. Lime green none the less.

What do ya'll think??? Maybe a pair of these and there Indy drive set up???

Not sure, I've never seen them like that, CMI's usually have more of a polished look to them. Knowing Ilmor they may just be making them in house. I couldn't imagine the amount of reliable power you'd get out of those things. I bet dollars to donuts you'd see speeds well over 100+ with the new stepped bottom and lower profile of the 28.

CMI offers a satin finish vs polished for a few less dollars.

Motors painted and back together bilge painted and back together carbs redone just trying to find a or some strainers I can afford to put in before the motors go back in. It might end up going back together without one but I hope not.
