Another 28 Thread
Yea I know, another one. Yes I've searched! Started out with my first powerboat last fall, a 98 Outlaw 24 and I'm ready to start thinking about going bigger. been doing my homework and seems to me if I want a good wave crusher that is built well a Pantera 28 is the way to go. Doesn't seem to be much on the market currently and I'm saving and looking for next season. I Definitly want the twins. I am in RI and will be making trips toBlock Island and would like knowing if one motor dies I can still get the family home. What seems to be the market pricing for these boats? Late 90's-early 2000's is 30-40k realistic for a decent boat?

You will be able to limp home but you will pretty much be at a fast idle. I had a starter break on me one night and limped home on one engine, I maintained 7.5 mph with one engine anything faster the boat tried to plain and was just burning fuel. It was a long ride home with hungry passengers . Docking was pretty hard with one engine. Needless to say I purchased tow insurance the next day incase there is a next time.

mike So basically even though there arent many in the classifieds they are out there. Seems to be a pretty tight community in Pantera world which is nice. My budget seems to be realistic as well. I will definitly be in touch when the time comes now to try and make it happen for next season. |
Twin Blown small blocks would be the way to go:evilb:
