Need pics of 24

Need pics of the inside of a 24. The wife and I have both agree it's time for a bigger boat. We where getting beat up pretty bad the other weekend and she looked at me and said I want a f-ing Pantera. I just said okay. An older 24 is on the top of my list amyways. But I've never seen a 24 in person. I'd like to see some pictures of the cockpit and most importantly the cuddy. We are planning to make the Miami show this year again. We will for sure be stopping by the shop this year whether or not we have bought one by then or not. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Brian:) :) :)

i have some pictures of my sweet 24' but not any of the cabin/cockpit right now, but i can take some for you as soon as i can and try and put them up. the cabin is basically a giant bed, with optional porto-potty. The cockpit is designed nice and clean and easy to read. Nice lay out. Ill try and get some pictures up for you when i can.

Hey Brian. I have a 24' that has just finished a total rebuild. It is a red/white boat with red interior. The engine is also all powder coated red and black. The outdrive, tranny, trim, hydrolic steering and pumps have all been resealed or are new units. I will take some pics this weekend. Leave me your email address and I can send some your way.

What do you plan to use the cabin for? The 24' is small and short since the beam is 7' and the freeboard is kinda small. If you need a short rest it will be fine. Get a hatch for ventilation. The 28' has a great cabin, longer, higher and wider. VBs 28' will have a small sink, ice chest, benchs and a berth. The 28' with a single may be good for you and you surely will not get beat up. Good luck, GaryM

PS: I think there are still some used boats on the Pantera web site

Thanks guys. 95% of our boating is day boating. But I would like to overnight a few times. All we need is a bed, thats it. I know thats all the cuddy is and it would be perfect if its roomy enough. Thats my concern is size. I'm a big guy and need room. Moving between the bolster is going to be impossible with a 7' beam right??? I just want to make sure than myself and more importantly the wife is comfortable in it.

I boat with a 28 and he and I both agree that is overkill for where we boat. He says his boat is boring to drive but he loves it anyways.

If anyone has pics they can post them on this thread or send them to [email protected]. I've searched the web for pics but just can't find many of the inside. Thanks again.:) :) :)

It IS boring as compared to the Baja 240 I had. That one needed constant fiddling with the tabs to keep her level.

The 28 is rock solid and smooth as hell. Rough on the river is 3-5 footers and it's not even a test.

I've bit it a few times going over some monster cruiser wakes, but hey..... I'm still learning with this boat!

Hope someone posts up some pics. I haven't seen much of the 24 either.

:D

A wave crushing 28 would be cool but I think a 24 would be more than adequit. If those flat bottom Baja's can take the water I think 24 would a perfect size. :D :D :D Just waiting for Mandy to get a car loan and then I can work on boat financing.

A 24 with twin outboards!!:D :D :D

Caincando1 07-30-2002 01:30 PM

That would be choice but did they ever make any?

Thirsty Turtle 07-30-2002 03:33 PM

OH YEAH!

They have a picture of a sweet one in the new boats of the 24.

Looks like twin Merc 225's.

Happy shopping!!:D

Caincando1 07-30-2002 04:04 PM

It would be cool if I could find an older one with twin OB. I have all winter so hopefully we can find one.

JO - PANTERABOATS 07-31-2002 06:54 PM

Hey Caincando 1,

We build the 24 model with two different style decks. One is the "Sport" model which has a straight across windscreen and a smaller cabin consisting of a 6 1/2 foot v-berth finished in white vinyl with half inch padding and colored light panels with storage compartments. This model is more racey in design.

The "SE" model is basically a scaled down version of the 28.It has a flip up cabin door with facing sit down seats with a 6 1/2 foot v-berth and porta potti. It also has a port side closet with storages throughout the entire cabin. It is more pleasure friendly. It is also finished in Vinyl with 1/2 inch padding with colored light panels matching the exterior of the boat.

Both models perform the same for speed and handling since they have the same 24 degree deep v hull.

It is up to customer preferance.

I hope that answers your questions.

On my website you will see a new 24 Sport with race sit down seats, and will be putting in pictures of a new 24 we will be testing next week with twin 225 Pro Max outboards with the extended cockpit.I will also post pictures shortly of Gary MMM new 2003 24 Pantera Sport powered with a single new for 2003 Yamaha outboard 250 HPDI injection.

Thanks JO.

I will be looking for an older 24. late 80's early 90's. Where these two models made back then also? Sounds like I'd prefer a SE but I think I will have to take what ever I can find. Which did you make more of? I don't think I've seen to many in the SE form. I have all winter so hopefully I can come across one.

Thanks,

Brian

Dave M 08-01-2002 08:34 AM

Hey Jo,

Is the cockpit in the "sport" is larger than the "SE"? Were does th space for the sit down seats come from? I've seen a few sports but I don't think I ever saw the SE.

Dave M.

JO - PANTERABOATS 08-01-2002 07:41 PM

Hey Dave,

The SE model has the dash mounted to the starboard side with a V-windscreen in design which allows for extra headroom in the cabin,a flip up cabin door,a step down entry, and a port side closet.

The new 24 Sport have a glassed in straight across windscreen that looks more racy in design. The dash in this boat will take up a bit of extra cockpit space but not much. This model you basically need to crawl in to get into the cabin. When you are in the cockpit it will also give you a longer deck feel since the windscreen is sitting further back.

We still offer the 24 in either model with Stand up bolsters with drop outs or our new custom made race sit down buckets.

The sit down race buckets are actually smaller in design than the stand up bolsters. It is up to customer preferance.

We can build the 24 Sport model with a port side closet and sit down seats and a longer v-berth if a customer request it in the cabin. The SE is just better suited for this.

If you need anything else answered let me know.

Regards, JO
