Pantera 280 what year is it?
Hi, need some help here. just bought this Pantera 28 but have no idea what year it is. Do they all look the same or can anyone identify the year (approx.) by the lines etc etc? I heard about something called a HIN number so it might be 1989??
It has 2 MAG 350 with Alpha drives on it but these will go out. Now I plan on putting two new 377 Scorpion Mercruisers in with Bravo 1 drives as I do not want any high performance engine that is heavy on maintenance. That being said, I would consider a 525 if this would improve the jumps???? The two 377 Mercruisers might be to heavy in the back to make it land nice and flat compared to the 525? I do like the idea of 700+ HP split on two fairly simple engines though. Am I too optimistic if I hope to pass 70 miles with the two engine set up?

I was down in Miami and Jo took me over to take a ride in a 28 that had a pair of 383's in it . I think it only did 65 mph . I would take a single 28 over a twin every day of the week . The twin BB sit too deep in the water for me . I'm sure the SB's aren't as bad but a far as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYdps2cQkic I don't think it matters whether its single or twin .

bought it in germany but not sure about the history ending up there. It currently have 350 mag's that looks tired and it is not the power im looking for in a 28ft boat. If i can get 65 miles from 383's i think this will be my preferance due to fuel prices here. Should give me a good cruising economy i recon.
On another thought im still playing with the idea of building 600+ hp from a 502 standard short block with dart alu heads and a M3 procharger. Preferably MPI. Any thoughts on that? That would then be a single set up.
