I have high expectations for progress this weekend. Got all my cooling pieces, fuel pieces and my pilot bushing this week. I'll update as I can, powder coating brackets starts in the AM. Here is a look at some fuel pieces mocked on the bench.http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/f...psb4sxotta.jpg

Well I fell slightly short of my goal today because I completely forgot about having to pump the fuel out of the tank as a precaution, I didn't want to use the new fuel system because I'm either anal or an idiot... not sure which. First I started powdercoating my backing plates. As they were cooking I re-installed the old fuel fitting in the tank along with the filter and pump and some extra hose, got about 45gal out. Removed the old stuff (again) and installed the new tank fitting along with the new filter and pump mounted inboard the stringer. Next was the strainer, it went quick but I couldn't find a wrench big enough for the plugs (1-1/2) so I mounted it and will finish it off in the morning after I get a wrench. Since I couldn't finish the strainer I threw the bilge vents on and stuck one of my trim pieces on that go around the top perimeter of the bilge. I'll see what I can get done tomorrow.

Moving along nicely, fittings in the strainer and hoses on, cleaned out some threaded holes while I can still get to them and ran the bilge pump wires for easy access later. Going to throw the flywheel and pilot in, trans back on and in it goes. I'll check in tonight.

Looking good but how close is your strainer going to be to the front of the motor?
