2009 Pantera 28 SR
|
Looks great. Love the SR boat. I wish more of them were produced and around.
|
Sweet video, love the boat,is that from "Thunder on the Bay " this year. This is Guy, I picked up the 2009 36 that was built with your boat this spring and I see you keep it down on the Chesapeake,Norm(Bay Performance) does stuff for me.I use to keep my 2000 28 there and use that ramp for a couple years.Anyway we'll have to get together next season.
|
I’ve seen your boat at the Inn before…..cool video and the boat sounds awesome! Wish they still made these things

I truly hope that Pantera can turn their Business Around and make good on some Promises that they have made to some current Pantera Boat Owners - Me being one of them... |

Thanks OCCJoe - Nicely Said my friend...

Pantera needs to admit their corrupt business plan before attempting to move forward in the boat building business. The courts found them guilty so admit it.
|
Sorry guys, I didnt want to put some mess here... They told me THEY WOULD LOVE TO...so its nothing confirmed by them. I'm new to this forum and I don't speak English a lot so I'm VERY SORRY for the confusion I made here.
I contacted Pantera for a 28' boat and they sent me this message by email (Jo @ Pantera boats) : IF you are interested, I have 2) 28' SR's built on the floor that I would love to take to Miami Bch boat show in February. Rgds, JO |
Awesome video. That SR hull looks great running hard.

|
Pantera usually does not have a booth at the Miami Show. Have not for years.

If they have hardware on the floor. Take a trip down there and make the deal. Make payments based on a plan and schedule you both agree to and sign. I can put you in touch with someone in the area to help you out with a build that knows Jo and Pepe well but has no affiliation with Pantera Boats. They build a great boat and are good people. You just have to manage your project from the start.

bring cash, a trailer and drag one off the boat show floor

Rgds, JO Pantera does build a great boat and if you are serious about buying one it would probably go ok if you just picked up a hull and had it powered and rigged at a shop close to your home . I think all the builds go bad when the money is missing to pay for power , parts and the contracting of the interior..... http://www.urbandictionary.com/defin...=*igger%20rich..... You'll have to change the * to a different letter to open definition page .... Just Saying |

I do not want anyone else to be hurt by Pantera and Believe Me when I say that I know that better than you... I defintiley know it better than you... I feel very bad for Berk, but I am still waiting for those guys to make good on some promises that were made to me... I know that it will never happen, but a little Wishful Thinking does not hurt...

I think he said it made somewhere north of 750hp and ran 94 (I remember a screenshot of the GPS in the thread). |
mickeymccign is correct, I've stayed off the thread I started after coming back from Key West. My thread turned into a Pantera bashing fest.... Some of us would like to talk about our boats but it seems to many people on here like to play overlord.

I would like to know what you think of the 28 stepped bottom. I also boat on the Chesapeake bay so I am familiar with the water conditons, surprised I haven't seen it around actually. And now that you've owned it awhile what are your opinions? With the 525 and now with 750. No pantera bashing just shop talk. Thanks.

I hit 93-94 with a Mercury labbed 32 4 blade 1/4 tank of gas my wife and I, cool air, cool water, and a light chop. What shocked me the most was the fact that it tracked like it was on rails. After we put the Whipple on it we hit 90 on the shake out run with a borrowed prop. The Whipple woke the boat up!
The 4 blade was brutal getting on plane. I've switched out to a P-5 29 and hit 87-88 consistently. Fast enough and the mid range punch is great!! mickeymcclgn, the Chesapeake is like a washing machine :-) bigboat28, Key West was great! The water Sunday was snotty!!! |
I knew Pantera changed the bottom to a stepped bottom so how did they come about the new design ? Did they use the old V hull mold and stick an insert of the steps in that mold ? or redesigned the mold themselves or had one the navel architects design it for them. You just don't throw a step or 2 into a hull bottom to accomplish positive results of all running & handling aspects.. Just asking. In the vid the boat looks like it handles well.

Thanks Mange |
BUP, I really don't know how they came up with the twin step placement, but they know this hull inside out so? It handles fantastic!
Mange, it ran 78 with the 525 and a P-5 prop before the Whipple, the extra power woke the boat up! |
