28 Pantera with twin sbc, how many are out there?
 

how many guys on here with 28 Pantera have twin sbc? What’s your combos, how fast are you running, etc? Building twin 383s for mine right now and wondering how she’ll run.

I only remember one guy on ever on OSO (Angel???) having a 28 with twin SBC's.
I think twin 400+hp SBC's would be the perfect weight and power for a 28.

I thought there was the one in England, and another in the islands somewhere? 6.2s?

I have two 383s going in that should be a little over 400hp and 450tq, hoping it’ll at least run 70mph and be reliable. I guess time will tell.

that would be amazing if it did, but I kinda doubt it. I haven't weight it yet, but I assume 6000-6300lbs maybe. That's why I'm posting to see if someone has built something similar.

Do most 28's that are twins have steps?

It should run at least 75mph with that power. Twin 502mag 28's will run about 80.

None of the stepped 28's have twins

I've seen that one, he had 320hp motors, I know mine we'll make a hair over 400hp easy. An extra 160hp should let me break 70mph 🤞

What one do you have?

9:2-1 comp 383s with vortec 185cc heads, edelbrock intakes, 750cfm carbs, gil exhaust, comp xm270hr cams, etc

Someone on here had a 28 with sbc in the BVI if I remember right.

I think there was a guy called Justin on here that had sb in a 28 , there is allso a 28 in ireland with twin oil burners on arnsons ,
mine here in the uk but has BB and there is a guy in Germany with small block 6,2 mercruiser think he said he's hitting 70 mph

Angels old 28, which was redone early 2000s at the plant ended up on the west coast of Florida, owned by some lawyer.
I emailed him during my craze of looking for a 28. Can't remember the name, and can't find it since the Pantera Site has been taken down. But it had warmed over sbc's.

I also recall a fellow member having a SBC 28. Was a 80 or 81. Black Hull sides and had Pre bravo 1 drives on it.
