Finally a Pantera owner again.
Just want to say hi to all the forum members after 10 long years. I had bought a brand new 28 twin set up in 98 and kept it for almost 15 years. At the end it was putting out 600hp a piece and was the perfect boat. It could handle anything you threw at it and looked as good when i sold it as when i bought it. I got rid of it wanting something bigger but could never find anything that compared in my mind and regretted selling it ever since. I finally found the replacement. I just bought a 36 with the staggered set up. I have been looking at that boat since Ducky got it and it finally was the right time to pull the trigger. I had bought my first one new from them and this one even though its a 2010 its essentially new with only 11 test hrs on it. Mercury Racing and Bob Saccemti from Apache rigged thw whole thing up at Checkmate and tested on the great lakes. They used Checkmates facility due to the volume of Mercruisers they buy and could get a lot of factory support. Being on many Panteras you can see the different rigging styles. Both are excellent but just a little different. Ducky went all out on this one and spared no expense on the hardware. I should be doing the sea trial before the end of the week and be boating this weekend. I have never felt so good buying something in my life. 😂 I have missed my Pantera for 10 years now and cant wait to be back at the helm of one. If I can give any Pantera owner a piece of advice it would be to never sell it. After a while you take it for granted. Start looking at other boats. Think your buddys boat is a little younger and maybe prettier. But when its gone you realize it was your soul mate. And you remember all the good times you had. The new one may have fancier paint and some modern stuff but I would take my old Pantera any day and be the proudest boater in the world. 🥰 lol, got a little carried away. But they are great boats and i am glad to be back.

Will you be running it on the Chesapeake? I remember your other one at River watch. My dad is Denny Burd. He ran around with Ducky. We had 2 28s and now I have one of the 36's. Congrats on the boat.

I remember certainly. I remember your dad and the boats. I ran with him a couple times. Always great having a couple Panteras together. And I will be on the bay. Have a house on Rumsey Islandi in Joppa on the Gunpowder. P.M. me i want to hear how your dad is doing and maybe meet up. Ducky"s is suppose,to nring it down tomorrow for test run so hope to br on the bay soon. So half of the 36"s made are on the bay. That's crazy. But I am so happy to be back in a Pantera

There’s a couple of ways to upload photos, I’m using n iPad and this works for me…..
Looks complicated the first time but just follow the prompts. Click the little picture icon https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...6c21a29ba.jpeg Follow the prompts…… Browse your device Photo library Select a pic Add Upload No stress if you can’t figure it out, wait for a niece/nephew to ask for a boat ride then tell them “sure, but you gotta help me with a computer thing first!” 🙂 RR |
Wow. Glad this boat will finally get some use. Congrats Dru.

Here are a couple pics. Haven’t had much time when I am trying to stay behind the wheel. lol. Going to try another set of props this weekend but did get 91 mph this weekend. Not ideal conditions for there was a slight rain, hardly any chop, didn’t get much time to play with trim so I think there is at least 5mph still in it. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e4374652c.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f250224fa.jpeg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...28d8c32ab.jpeg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e81d1bcb1.jpeg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...a376ed7b8.jpeg |
