What ever happened to the speed of Von Bongos fabulous boat?

What is the color Panteraracin used to paint his engine?

How is Garymmm's outboard 24' doing??

Is Jo going to post any pictures of the Pantera Only Girls? (The ones he takes for rides on all of our boats before he delivers them) Must be nice to have such a hard job!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, thanks to Jo, Pepe and Linda for making ownership possible and most of all enjoyable!!! You build a wonderful product in a time where economics overweigh quality for most companies!!

Happy New Year to ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pantera24-650hp

Will you be down for the Miami Boat show in Feb?
Maybe we can get a Pantera owners get together during the show. If not I'm hoping we can all meet, if we have the
Pantera get together this summer.

Have you been able to get your engine back together and running yet?? Hope so.

Later
Angel

I've been here:D not sure how interesting the stuff I've posted has been:rolleyes:

As far as Von's boat, I know he only put about 5hrs on it before he winterized it, so he was taking it easy and still breaking it in. I think the best he saw was about 75mph. He wasn't hitting the rpms that he should at WOT. I think that salt vs fresh water might have a lot to do with that. I know I lost about 150-200rpms from when I tested my boat in salt water and got it home to fresh water.

Happy Holidays to All:)

Miami Show/Engine

No Angel we won't be at the Miami Show. We have a decent show up here next month - Chicago Boat Show. Not the high end performance stuff you guys have at Miami though.

The engine is getting there. I'm having the heads reworked now with new bronze guides, teflon seals, valve job and a slight mill.

Ordered a new block today, staying with the Gen Vl 454 block. reusing my rods, pistons, cam and accessories. New 4340 Scat Crank, Clevite 77 bearings and Prop Speed Moly rings.

My Procharger was overhauled last month by the factory so it is like new. I hope to see about 620 - 650 on the dyno once I get this assembled and dialed in.

Have a nice New Years!!

Kirk

Happy Birthday Kitten,

How is that Pantera running? DK used to post some pics and stuff for us snowbound folk!

I hope to have a great summer here. SHould have lots of pics to show off and a bunch of fun filled days now that I am a full time LOTO resident.

Every day it's nice here I wish I could get the boat out and make a few runs. It's going to be a long winter!

Not a Bad Winter . . . So Far

Though we can't put the boats in the water, it has been a very mild winter in Chicago so far....We'll probably get 2' of snow now that I said this!!!

Happy New Year To All!!!!

This is my update on my Yamaha powered 24'. The engine is broken in and I can drive it as well a Jo. He may not think so. It has hydraulic steering and when trimmed out it can chine walk if you do not practice monor corrections that eventually come naturally. I love this outboard; 1) idle all day on 4 cylinders at 600 rpm without fouling a plug, 2) WOT at 5400 all day without bending a valve, breaking a crankshaft, or burning a piston. Top speed is 65 mph at full trim without a Bimini top. There is a strong rumor that Yamaha will introduce a 300 HP HPDI engine. Get in line a order your 24' Pantera with this engine. GaryM
