Boat Comes Out of Storage

My boat comes out of storage in a couple of weeks.

Possibly adding a stereo to my 24'. Anyone have pictures of a stereo mounted in a 24? I need a decent location. Prefer to keep it out of the cabin for access. Pictures would help for speaker locations too.

Thanks -

Still salt on the roads!

Wash the boat and trailer when you get it to where you're going!

Same thing happening here. Adding tunes once it warms up a bit. Got the 4 6" x 9"s, amps, and head unit locations dialed in. Now deciding where to put a sub. There is only 12" under the rear seat, so it doesn't leave any room for 10" sub and box.

I'll be bringing the boat to Chicago in July:cool:

We'll have to get together on the lake and find some BIG washing machine type water!

I look forward to running with you.

Where are you planning to install the receiver? Amp?

I'd be interested in seeing what your plan is for this equipment.

Here are some pics of where I had my head unit and speakers located on my old 24'. You don't see my other 2 speakers but they were located under the rear bench and fit perfectly and the enclosure made for some nice low's. The amp was mounted on the bulkhead inside the cabin area, to the right as you enter (right behind the console /gauges).
I'm now in the process of getting my 28' ready for some new tunes...going tonight to get the head unit.

What did you do inside to cover the back of the stereo and wires? I'd like to keep the cuddy looking as nice as the rest of the boat!

I was considering installing the stereo on the passenger side, through the padded vinyl/cup holder area. See attached.

What's your input?

By the way, the seat backs have been recovered and you should see the awesome Logo/Lettering Joe had done for me!!!

I just got back from buying a Kenwood marine unit with a seperate hard wire control. I can now put my unit in the cabin and control it from the helm.

Well in my case my cabin on the 24' was bare (no padding) so....it wires being seen were not a big deal to me, since no one was ever in the cabin.

Maybe you could put your unit in the cabin and control it with a seperate hard wired control from the helm like I'll be doing on my
28' now. Clarion, JBL, Sony and Kenwood all make units that have compatible hard wire waterproof controls.

The amps and head unit will be mounted in the cabin locker. The head unit will be accessible when the top of the 3 piece door is opened up. No hard wired remote at this time, but I do have an IR one. We'll see how long it takes before that is dumped in the drink! The 2 amps will be in the locker, mounted to the bulkhead. Speaker placement is similiar to Pantera24, except the rears will be a little forward of the rear bench.
