A little drive damage - OUCH

Last Sunday I took a bunch of my friends out in the ski boat and left my Pantera in the slip. I guess it got jealous. When I took it out Monday night, I had been cruising for about 15 minutes when the engine raced, there was a loud BANG and the engine stopped. I checked to see if I lost my prop, nope, still there. I tried to crank the engine. It would turn about 2 degrees and stop with a thunk. We took the 6 nuts off the back of the drive and figured it would just about slip off. After going at it with 2 pry bars, it still wouldn't come off. Long story short (too late?) I lost some teeth on gear on the input shaft. After we fianlly go it out the input shaft had been twisted about a 1/4". I will post some pics of it when I get a chance to take some.

I'm not quite sure what I was thinking when I said that the input shaft turned a 1/4 inch it was actually a 1/4 turn...
