Any tips on instalation of the deflectors?

I'm running 26 B1 76 GPS everyday @ 5000 rpm. I tried a pair of 28 B1 but saw 73 @ 4500. Acceleration was way off too. On the river it's alot of getting on and off plane. The 26's pop it right out. The boat is just an excellent all around performer:D

The boat will porpoise when over trimmed. Make sure both drives are going up evenly.....the starboard drive trim motor was getting slow on me making the boat hop until i could catch it up with the rocker switch. It's fixed now, and both drives are very close to the same speed using the throttle trim.

For mounting the deflectors, I centered the starboard one with the compass (or where the compass should go on mine:rolleyes: ). Once I had that position, I measured from the side of the deflector to the front of the V. That measurement was used on the port side. It's up to you on heigth. Mine sit about 1" below the windscreen when they're up.

My starboard trim motor is a little slow too, I ran the same with the 26,s. I tried a pair of stock 28's and had the same problem but the labbed 28's are quick. once i get them back i will let you know how they work and tell you where i had them worked on. I ordered the 18 inch defectors in purple, i'll send you a pic once i get them on.

Will the 28" beat a bass boat on the hole shot?

I can with the 26's:D

I thought about labbing the 28's.....but I have enough things find my props in the river. I guess I have been pretty lucky the last couple years though.

What are you having them do to them this time around?

They are taking a little more cup out of them, they already had some cup taken out and the blades were thined. I need another 100 to 200 rpm. I am not to concerned about the hole shot, it is top speed that thrills me. I'll let you know how they work, I should have them back next week sometime. i take it, it was a lot more comfortable with the new wind deflectors. I can't wait to put them on......

Those wind defletors made a world of difference, What a pleasure diving the boat now, thanks for the info.........

Digging up an old thread...

any more options, scoop, feedback? I like the idea of a bar mounted type as you are putting fewer holes in the boat and the shield can be removed with a somewhat normal looking chicken handle remaining.

If I were to do the bar type mount with white or red powdercoat (Guess whose boat I'm buying:D ) will the clamps take out the powdercoat or does the finish hold up well? I'd probably mt them on the backside of the fairing to keep the front face clean and the covers fitting well etc.

I take it I can get away with keeping "Cattitude" seeing as it is a Pantera- right??:D

Pantera is a cat all the way.

The grabhandle/bar with the wind defelectors is very west coast. I reall like what TT did. paint them to match the boat and have a great time.

That's what I considered, but didn't know how to negotiate around the compass pod.
