? for all 24 owners.

What year, engine and drive does your boat have?
And how does it perform. And what kind of speeds?
Any external steering?

This question is for anyone who has one or who has ever owned one.

Thanks.

Rob

Rob,

I have a 2001 Pantera 24. It has a 496 HO MAG/Bravo Drive. Has 19" K-planes. I love it. It is very responsive and handles great. No external steering, was hoping Santa would give this up for Xmas, just have to wait until next year. Jeff:D

Jeff, how does the bravo handle the 425hp.
I know most manufacturers want an XR drive
w/ the HO.

And guys w/ even more HP, how does your drive deal
w/ all that power?

Rob,

I have had no problems with my Bravo Drive. I have been told that the Bravo Drive is good up to 600 hp?, and as long as you do not pound it. Pepe and Joe are the guys that can help you. The only problem I have encountered so far is I have a cracked Bell Housing (flywheel) that needs to be replaced. I love the boat and I want to purchase a 28 single. Jeff

I've got a 79 with a 454 putting out about 500hp. I've got the Merc II tranny and TRS drive.

I've only got about 12 hours on the boat -- but it drives really nice - my trs transom assembly had some slop so i put on external hyd steering -- its rock solid now -- very good upgrade.

Just got my prop labbed and should be in the 75mph neighborhood.

i'll know more in two more months -- when winter is over!!

;-)

You really shouldn't need an XR behind 425 hp.

I had a stock Bravo behind my 525SC in my 28. It blew the uppers at 210hrs. Now I have an Imco upper(not the XR version) with the stock lower with 120hrs and never a spec a metal in it.

The secret is to keep it cool and change the lube.
