Updated 28 home from Pantera

Rolled into Atlanta at 4am Saturday morning. Lots of rain heading North but light traffic. Cleaned it up in the morning, went for gas, and to the ramp.
I have some preliminary performance info but not concrete yet. Using year old fuel mixed with fresh and my speedo is 5 to 10 off. Anyway, with about 120 gallons of fuel and three people on board 4800rpm on a stock 26 Bravo 1. I would guess 68-70mph. I will get some lab work done to get the rpms up 300-400rpm. Should get low 70s easily maybe better with low fuel.
Very pleased with planing speed and acceleration.

Panteras work on this boat was exceptional. Again, I want to thank the Nunez family for this installation. In every aspect this boat left the factory in new condition. Any short comings in my previous rigging not done at Pantera were corrected.

The full hydraulic steering is definitely a big improvement and it works great.

I would highly reccommend the GGB Silencers I used also. It still sounds stout but not so overpoweringly loud. I can now talk to passengers at idle or on plane. At the end of the day, the sound does not wear you out.

I will pass any performance updates.

Greg

Looks great!! Keep us posted on your performance.

Could you take some better pictures of the sea strainer mounting location? Also, the engine mounts? I need to install these in my new 28 next week and want to see how the factory does it.

Thank you,

Kirk

Pantera 572,

Your renovated ride looks great, not that it was anything to sneeze at prior! I'm interested in the GGb Silencers. Who supplied them, approx $$, & whats the max H.P. they're rated for?

Thanks

Michael

Thanks guys,

650 , I will try to get you some photos this weekend.

Express, The GGB exhaust is about $900. Rated from 650 to 1200 HP.

www.GGB.CA.( Graham) Probably one of my best additions to the boat.

Cuda, 2002. Original engine and drive were installed in March 2003. 19 Hours when the other engine came out. Looks new because it basically is.

lukiepal, I really like your graffics. Was there while they were being installed.

Thanks for the compliments guys,

Greg

Re: Updated 28 home from Pantera

Hey Ron, Not really. I am waiting for a weekend I will not be in town to send out my prop to get it labbed. With a 26P bravo one I am getting 4700-4800 rpm . My speedo is not accurate. Need to get that up to 5300-5400. Want to get it done asap but I hate to miss a weekend. Sure hope you are in yours for the 4th.

Hey Greg:

I ran a 24p today and only hit 66 trimmed at 4 with full tank and 3 people @ 4900-5000. Have any ideas to increase speed? Of course, I only have 5 hours on the engine.

Greg,
I've told alot of people your boat was for sale.
It is one nice looking boat, hate to see you sell it. :(

Anyone looking for a new Pantera should look at this boat.
IT"S REALLY NICE!

Re: Updated 28 home from Pantera

Hey Wildthing,
Thanks for your comments on my boat. I really do not want to sell. Everthing is finally right about it. Unfortunately, I already purchased the lot I was interested in with my father and need to pay him back.
I will definitely get another one in a few years.Maybe a 24. Corvette might go as well.
This boat is in new condition with a new drive line and will make someone very happy.
Thanks again, Greg
