Re: Battle of the Panteras

Ok here's how it played out. The water was snotty. Just the way we like it.

The Panteras got off to a great start with Goumada in front, Sonic Boom, Simply Awesome and Carrabas, all following a close second. Sonic Boom dropped off the pace and eventually blew their motor when Carrabas was playin with us for several laps. We were still about 1/4 lap behind Goumada and couldnt seem to catch him. We slowly pulled away from Carrabas holding a strong second place. Just as our drive let go in turn 3 of lap 9. Allowing Carrabas to pick up Second place behind Goumada.

Congrats guys. It was a good race

Re: Battle of the Panteras

Bruce, Sorry to hear about the drive, it would have come down to the wire between you guys and Goumada. You gonna be in Sarasota?

Scott,

Nice hangin out with you guys Saturday, I wish I had brought a cooler, coulda hung there all day. Nah, had to go look at the Sonic. Anyway, you said you would be working on your boat all week at night, If you need an extra set of hands, let me know, I can stop by on my way home, a night or two. All I have to do on mine this week is finish the guages, should only take one night, so I m free the others.

NAH,

The woman may be sorry she let me offer though!!!

I live for this stuff, if I cant wrench on my own Pantera, I might as well help someone else out. You got my cell#, just let me know whatcha need.

Oh yeah, and she seems pretty serious about letting me get the one we talked about, Now I need to sell mine, and find the rest of the cash, I'll be on the water by the 4'th with the "FOR SALE" sign on it, Her only thing about me buying it is she gets to drive, I dont think that will last long once she gets the sticks forward, but who knows, maybe she's coming around, But if not, she can always drive in the no-wake zones, or I can install the throttles on her side.

Bruce,

Would the Jaws have a chance against the Panteras?

Im still getting used to my 24 Jaws and have a new Hydromotive QIV-X prop coming from Throttle UP I want to try. I will try to ride over to AC but will probably only be a spectator.

Baja, the 24 Jaws is a similiar hull to the 24 Pantera. We can hold our own

Scott,
I might needs some coaching to run with these guys. What are you running for power. I hate to say it but Bruce might be correct in his assumption that a bigger boat will have an advantage in AC. Ill keep my fingers crossed for calm water.

Bruce and myself have the same style race boat, and I for one had a 24 Jaws and a 24 Pantera at one point. The ride is a big diffrence when you are out their. However, Scott, on his 24 can give anyone a scare because he has been racing for a while now and has plenty of seat time. And about keeping your fingers crossed, stay away from that approach to a race course that could be bumpy :D good luck to you and be safe.

Albert

And although I have never seen him race, from what I have heard, its sounds like he is not skeered to run that thing!!!

We may be sending Scotty home with his tail between his legs. :D :D

Re: Battle of the Panteras

Baja, There is no question that we are at a disadvantage in the rough, not because our boats can't handle it( I raced in Daytona 2000) in really big water.
My problem is when the prop is in the air, the boat is losing speed.
In rough water I seem to be in the air twice as much as the bigger boats.
That being said, I am going to AC to win.
PS 502 Crate motor and a couple hundred pound of lead in the boat to try to keep it in the water.
A little big water practice never hurts
