Footrest completed

Hey Guys:

Due to the shortness of my wife's legs and the fact that she'd rather sit than stand, I've completed my footrest which also doubles as a great step to get onto the bow. You can reverse the side dimensions if you need one for the driver. You can also angle the driver's side face for a more comfortable feel.

I have the dimensions of the wood, if anyone's interested.

Nice Ron -

What did you cover it with? Lets see pictures of it installed.

Kirk:

Got some indoor-outdoor carpet in Blue and glued and stapled. Fits great!! Will take pics when I can get back to the marina, probably tomorrow. Didn't have my camera with me the first time.

Re: Footrest completed

Well not only does it double as a step to the bow, it could triple as a sub-woofer box. Just kidding. :D Looks like it fits your purpose.

Okay Georges:

If you were in my shoes you'd know. If I were single I wouldn't give a

Re: Footrest completed

OK, I apologize for coming off like that.
I do have a 24, but it has only 2 bolsters. I am very fortunate, for it was my wife that said: "buy that boat dammit, you've been wanting one long enough"!
The only thing she would like in the boat is a porta potti  :D

Re: Footrest completed

Accepted..Thank you. I got the porta potti for the wife also. What we have to go through to buy a boat. And I thought the boat was for me!!

Got the nephews, niece, & sister-in-law visiting from St. Pete, FL. They got out of harm's way, so today I finally get to take everyone out for a blast. I know the kids will be like me when I took my first ride in a Pantera. :D :D From ear to ear.

Will take pics of the footrest today.

Re: Footrest completed

The footrest worked real good on Sunday when I had my nephews out for a ride. Their feet barely made it, but at least they got to sit up front. I forgot my camera but will get some pics soon.

Looks good, I just use a cooler and I'm 5'6.5".

Kitten:

I would have used a cooler, but the new wells don't run straight to the fiberglass. They curve up to an angled footrest so it was hard for a cooler to sit flat. Same purpose achieved.

Do you have any pictures of the foot rest in the boat? I would be interested in the dimensions. I want to build something similar.

Hey Guys:

Here some pics of the footrest installed. I'm going to use Velcro to affix the piece to the fiberglass.

I've included a pic of the driver's area without the footrest so you can get an idea of how it fits in. On the driver's side I'm going to angle the box because it doesn't need to be square. The square box assists in climbing on the deck.

Who knows..maybe Pepe and JO may integrate molded fiberglass for the newer boats. I have the dimensions and will put them on a PDF file for transfer should anyone want them.

Wow those look nice for a guy that has never held a hand saw! LOL! :D
I might look into the building a few of these boxes someday.
You could use them as a storage or tool box too.

I still need to make a few of these ramped footrest.
I think they would help me out as I would rather stand most of the time.
