OK... I'll start.
1995 24SE 365mag... which I believe is a 1989 engine. I had a compression test when the engine was cold before I bought the boat. Compression was low in 2 cylinders, but could have been cause the engine was cold. Anyway, the best I saw was 64.7mph GPS. Normal day was 62.5. The engine will be getting a rebuild this winter. Not sure what I'm going to do, but staying stock may keep it less of a headache. Any ideas out there? Also, didn't mean to leave the 28 owners out... so let's hear yours too. |

Re: 24ft power, what do you have?
Probaly a stickey subject but I would never build a 28 with less than 500 hp . After running Full throttle, Dont get me wrong his boat ran well but I cant imagine any less motor in that weight boat. That boat requires HP to run period........

Re: 24ft power, what do you have?
Oh my buddey had a 24/ 600 hp ran best of 81mph and was a hand full . If you wernt very careful you would get real hurt I spun it out runing close to 70 I was on the dash faceing the wrong way . So to avoid backlash it was a great boat under 78 mph over that you beter be ready .

Re: 24ft power, what do you have?
My last run in my 24 with my 648HP motor was an 87.5 GPS. And you are right, even with 280 K planes and full hydraulic steering...it's a hand full!!

Re: 24ft power, what do you have?
Mine was very stable at 78 + with the 500 TRS combo But I have done a lot of stuff to make it handle well at thoose speeds on rough water. I can only hope that changing to the bravo drive does not cause handling problems because it is 2.5" shorter.
