Anybody want/need a Myco for a 28'

I think I'd prefer to have an aluminum trailer, trips to the ocean planned etc. I've got a nice 03 Myco steel trailer with white Imron factory paint etc, factory custom made for the 28- I'm told it was pricey new. Am I nuts? Any reason I would not want an aluminum trailer?

Anyone know of a home or maybe a trade for like aluminum unit? I hope the moderators "tolerate" the post over here seems like it would do a lot more good than in the classifieds

Thanks!

It's this one...

http://www.panteraboats.com/28specs_sgl04_03.html

I can take some fresh pics in the next few days, has Pantera stickers, LED lights, Alum wheels- all Fresh Water so far unless Joe used it on the maiden voyage.
I just replaced the Master cylinder (it was stuck) and the pads.

I'm betting less than 3000 miles on the trailer- probably less than 1000 of them since I had it.

That's right......you have Von Bongo's boat. I have another shot of the boat on the trailer saved somewhere. Good looking trailer. Let me know what you're thinking for $$$.

My 28 sits on an aluminum Loadmaster. I've adjusted it the best it can be, but it's not set up to handle the deep V of the Pantera. Serviceable, but not quite right.

Thirsty Turtle would look nice sitting on a Myco. I looked for a picture of you're trailer, but I can't find one. I have a TON of pictures of you're boat, but none on the trailer. I guess I just like to look at it in the water. :D

Re: Anybody want/need a Myco for a 28'

TT, how old's your Loadmaster and what - in your opinion, would it take to make it fit right, custom brackets, more bunks?? I trust its on a pair of 5200 lb axles? how fresh are the tires?

Thirsty Turtle 11-30-2004 04:25 PM

Re: Anybody want/need a Myco for a 28'

I believe its a '96 and a double axle rated at 10,000 lb. I pulled the boat back from South Carolina and it tracks great. It could use another set of bunks up front for easier loading. Tires have probably 3000 miles on them with no abnormal wear. Hubs run nice and cool.

I've got a picture on my home computer that I'll post up later.

He seems to be afraid of posting a price. If someone doesn't post a price on something they are selling, they usually want way more than it is worth!!! :evilb:

Dude- do you read much- or is comprehension your challenge?? :p

as posted earlier in this thread- I've been out of town (and PC) for a couple days- I'll post up tomorrow or later today- after I've done the homework I said I had to do- I guess I should have done that first, but I was not sure if I'd get any bites. As said- I am sincere about a deal that makes sense, anybody who wants to call and talk can reach me at

Calls made, surfing hw done- my apologies If I offended anyone for not having a price on the first post.

This loaded myco trailer was kissing $8k new, I'll sell for $4,800. delivery negotiable.

I'd consider taking a like aluminum trailer in trade, must be full length (no "extendobunks"), have 5200 lb axles etc, in excellent condition- I don't want a fixer upper, sorry.

Georges- I'm curious- why would you want a steel trailer living/boating where you do?

Because they look good on the road. I do have a dockside hoist for the frequent dunks.

Once again, we've talked ourselves out of a steel trailer and staying with aluminum. We live on a gravel road and although the boat is only on the gravel a couple times a year (stays at the river during the summer), I like the fact that you don't worry about rock chips. A welded aluminum Myco would be the cats ass....but $$$

Pantera28-650HP - how do you like the Allison?

jr2 - I'll keep you in mind if and when I move mine.

I hear you, I use the RV type brushes on my truck- don't see gravel much but why take chances?

I returned Pm's to a couple of you on some potential trades, let's talk when you can:)

Re: Anybody want/need a Myco for a 28'

Old thread- but many newer readers- I'd still like to do this if I could make a deal that made sense, reasonable on price, I just want to get a simple AL trailer with a pair of 5200's.

My trailer has not changed, real low miles (500 a yr max), never in salt since the maiden voyage. That said- I'm about to do a 1500 mile RT to FL so some miles and salt are on the way- will rinse/flush thuroughly of course:)

Elite Marine 06-17-2006 08:39 PM

Re: Anybody want/need a Myco for a 28'

I'd still be interested. I'm only in fresh water. Love my triple, but a Myco would be nice.

Von Bongo 06-18-2006 02:22 AM

Re: Anybody want/need a Myco for a 28'

That trailer is the cats ass and it tows very, very well. The only miles I put on it were its trip from Jo to Me and then I took it to LOTO where it stayed. There aren't many built that fit a boat like that Myco does. Aluminum is nice for salt but they don't have the bunks and support of that trailer.

Re: Anybody want/need a Myco for a 28'

Kirk , my last Myco was a 1991 and when I sold it last year it only had some road chips and a little surface rust where the steel attached to the bottom on the bunks . I towed it with my E350 ford van stupid fast all the time . They Tow so good that it makes the long runs alot easier , and they look cool too !!!

Re: Anybody want/need a Myco for a 28'

Kirk,
Tell me about your trailer again please.

Torsion axles?

type of tires/rating?

pics of bunks and how where supported?

est. Miles?

Headed to the lake now:)

Re: Anybody want/need a Myco for a 28'

littledcsrodshop- your Pm box is full. Still willing to do something, but at the same time, I'm content to run it and maintain it cause with my one trip a yr to salt I see 10 more yrs easy out of the trailer with the flushing, touchup and care that I give it.
