Old school 29s - who's got 'em???

Curious who owns a 29' Phantom from the 90s, pleasure version? I've not seen a single one besides mine, wondering if there are others out there.

Also, I was told mine is the old "Outback" boat. Anyone remember this boat or even have pics? Would be nice to get some history on it.

Yep. Needed more work than I had originally anticipated but it turned out good so far. Should be finished over the winter. You've got a 34 don't ya Gary?

Another couple shots:

Will always get's a chuckle when he looks at my 28 Joker up close. Now where did part of our deck come from?

That's my favorite feature of the boat - keeps people guessing just what the hell it is! Classic lines yet modern enough...

Do the joker have a rise to the deck or is it flat? Mine is about as flat as can be...lose headroom below but the look is sick.

Hey I have a 1999 30 Phantom (Raising Cain) The boat performs awesome, it loves the rough water, flys level and handles like a porsche. It is powered by a Mercury 500 efi and has run 84.2 on the GPS. Hopefully I can get another mph or two when we reprop.

Dr Reed:

Come and race w/ us. That boat has won many races in F1. I know Todd and John well. If you have a 500 efi you're just about ready!

Nice #'s, is the beam 7' ?

DrReedJ 02-11-2007 09:12 PM

Yes 7'. Its a blast to drive. Our last race was in Sarasota and I do miss the big ocean water. We have been doing some poker runs with the boat, but I am not against getting out and playing in a couple of races. We have all the equipment just short on time.

I miss that boat. Bruce Scroxton and I had it running a little faster than that on Chautauqua Lake in 2001. That is a fun boat.
