Whos the man around here????

who do we call for some info on these babies..

how bout a 39 in a pleasure version, or poker run version with #6s....

name and numbers please, thanks stecz....

BRUCE SEROFF 03-17-2008 08:27 PM

There has never been a 39 made in a pleasure version. Only a 30 and 34. There are 2 39s for sale with canopies in the classifieds. One has bravos for 159k (Ray Delaney) and the other with 6s for 169k (Greg Reischman) both have 525s and run around 105mph. Im sure you can buy one and cut the roof off, but that would be a shame. I Hate to see a perfectly good race boat get the roof cut off. Then again SV class is all but dead at the moment. Contact Wil Smith. Maybe he'll build ya one. I dont think he has a mold for a pleasure deck though.

stecz20 03-17-2008 09:08 PM

i called him, nice guy.. the 39 with sixes would be perfect for murdering people... we were thinking 750 or 850s it should go pretty good... can you guys give me some imput on these rigs, i know nothing about them.. thanks stecz

Call Jim Simmons at Simmons Marine. I know he is pretty tuned in to the factory. 330-882-9200 He has been the P4 world and national champ for 06 and 07 in a 34 Phantom. Very knowledgeable in both handleing and rigging. He is so great at rigging he is doning my 38 Fountain right now. Well maybe not right now at a quarter to 1 in the morning on a saturday night but........ maybe.

My father's 34' has been an awesome boat. I would assume the 39' would be equally great.

TOASTY 03-26-2008 05:31 PM

you may want to look at a bad boy 38 with 1075s staggered and dry 6s with AC then you can murder...

Smarty 06-14-2008 10:28 PM

My brother and a friend of my father's have been putting his new 540 cu.in Dart motors together. It may be a 95 mph to 100 mph boat when it is all said and done, with mild horsepower. Not bad for tame blowerLESS EFI motors... yep, Will Smith Phantom boats are the sh*t!

Who has a set of 34" and or 36" Bravo's we can try, in the near future?

Padraig 06-15-2008 07:02 AM

Years ago i met Will Smith at the Cleveland Boat show. He is a nice guy and very knowledgeable.

BRUCE SEROFF 07-10-2008 08:30 PM

Ray Delaney's boat is now available without power and drives.

ready for your big power and 6s

I would love to see someone put BIG POWER in a 38 like Delaney's boat and let it fly. If I'm thinking right, Delaney's boat had a lot of bottom improvement work done to it. Meaning, it was Dialed In. If I only had the funds, it would be on a short list of boats to run on LOTO!

That boat is priced right (the used 39' raceboat). I wondered if Will plugged that mold, used the twin ventilated bottom (like 39' boat), how much faster the 34' would be with the 39' bottom design? Or, maybe not as fast? Or maybe faster but not as good in rough water compared to the existing 34' bottom? Guess it is time for Will to build another, and find out. I too am cash limited, so I will not be able to order one unless the cash geenie appears from the magic lamp...

I think the 34' right now is aweseome. But that 39' is cool. :cool-smiley-011:

smarty is that your phantom for sale in the classifieds...the 34 ?

No, that boat has had mechanical work done by Bobby Wallace of Offshore Performance in Scullville, NJ. He is a top notch guy down here in southern NJ. I would call him about that boat. Or take a ride to Brigintine, check it out.

My mother, uncle, and I are taking my father's boat down to Phantom for Will Smith to go through and make it perfect. My father had done a heck of alot since he bought it.
Innovation Marine will dyno and tune the new 540's, keeping the MerCruiser EFI. If my father were still alive he would have done it all himself, and it would be perfect; I am sure Will Smith will do a great job, and Innovation will tune the motors the way my father would have wanted them to be - reliable, low rpm idle, and no reversion!!!!

You'll love the boat. Very predictable in varying waters. My father (he passed away July 3rd) has a 34', after driving an 85+ mph Magnum, off and on, for 18 years - learning how to get the most out of the Phantom at WOT, cruise, and fast cruising sweet-spot was easy. A great boat.

Congratulations
