1980 Phantom Race Boat
 

Anybody know this boat? I recently ended up with it and wondered if there was any history to it.

I remember Willy Diaz from Miami,FL had an all black 38ft Phantom "EL Boss" #38..that he raced in OPEN CLASS in 1979 and 1980.

I do, but they're not much to look at. I'll post them though.

I had heard it came from the east coast. Needs a transom now. It's too bad cause from the looks of the stringers it was built like a tank. 2x18 main and 2x10 cross braces.

I have an ad on craigslist in San Francisco, search Phantom. I dont want it to seem like I'm trying to sell it thru the forum. I was really just looking for history and sharing what i think is a cool boat. Or i can PM you if interested.

Anyone have an idea of what it would cost to get it to NJ, would love to restore this, and get it back out racing.

Kinda reminds me of a Seahawk style deck.

I priced bringing a Formula about the same size from FL to CA and it was about $1800 on U-Ship.com
