If you need/want a hotel, At the intersection of I295 and Route 10 is an Amerisuites (804) 530-4600. At the intersection of I95 and Route 10 is a Homewood Suites (804) 751-0010 and a Marriott Courtyard (804) 414-1010, all of which offer good trailer parking. There's a bunch of people staying there. And you can drop the boat in Saturday morning if you so choose. (Hopewell) Then you won't have to make a 90 mile trip up, just to run back down.
If you are planning to spend the following week there in Va. Beach...Then by all means, you want to drop in there at the hotel. Get a hold of MWDILL & DSANDMAN. They both do this every year. |

rssteiny,
There is no issue with returning back to the Richmond area on Sunday morning from Hampton Roads. Its straight up the James river about 85 or so miles, and the river is normally smooth and no traffic. Last year we got up early on Sunday, and went right back to the trailer in Richmond (Jordan Point); took the boat home, washed, flushed, and got on an airplane by 6pm. |
