Just got back from Steve's "THE KING" and we now have 98 boats entered and one more is on the way to make 99!!!! We are almost at the goal of 100 qnd hope to have past it by a couple more. If you are thinking about entering do so soon!!!

It appears that the Renaissance has sold out of the 140 rooms that I blocked. I'm working on getting more, but in the meantime make reservations at the Portsmouth Holiday Inn.

Ok, now it seems that the Holiday Inn is also sold out. Other hotel options include:

1) Look on the Internet (Hotels.com, Travelocity, etc) for anything near Olde Towne Portsmouth, VA.

2) Across the harbor is downtown Norfolk, VA. There you will find a Sheraton (right on the water) and a Marriott (short walk). There is a water taxi that runs until midnight from the Renaisance area to downtown Norfolk.

9 reservations were cancelled by Marriott this morning. (They booked reservations under our 'block' but are not attending.) I called the Renaissance this morning to see if these rooms would be returned to inventory but they can't tell me yet.

102 boats are paid up, and I know of a few more that said they're entering.

What are the plans for Friday - will anyone be out and running? I took the day off and wouldn't mind getting a head start on the festivities :drink:

Shawn; We'll be up there on Thursday nite. Staying with my brother in Williamsburg and heading into Jordan Point Friday AM. Let me know where you'll be and we'll hook up. Feel free to call my cell on Thursday so we can make the plans. New power was dropped in today...just a few water lines left and we should be testing by Friday.
