There's also Portsmouth City Park around the bend. Willoughby Spit on the inside near I-64 tunnel also has a recently renovated public ramp. Next best after that would be Little Creek or farther out Lynnhaven.

Portsmouth is the larger of the two. You can zoom in via google map sattelite and tell the difference in parking to be "guaranteed" enough space for three sets.

We're investigating the potential for Ocean Marine to belly up for us and lift folks in for us at worst for a small fee.

would Ocean Marine have parking for the trucks and trailer's?
that would be great for us since we will be down for 4 days, would like to have quick access to our vehicles if needed.

We're trying to negotiate either a free, or at least a cheap roundtrip lift for that weekend since we do so much for their run. "Normally" for OM members it's $25 one-way, for non-members it's $50 one-way. Yes they have a large parking lot where the truck/trailers can park in the rear section, and they have round the clock security patrolling the premises at night.

Until we can nail down a deal or not, I would plan on one of the ramp locations and then be surpsied if we do.

Yup. I-264 to Portsmouth Blvd, then right on City Park straight back to the park.
