Sorry to hear of the misfourtanes. I'll bet Slug just wrote out a check after the 7th time! There are other ways to avoid noise tickets than permits. Good will goes a long way. Invite the river patrol police. Offer to donate to them. Involve them. I know it's not easy, but it's better to involve them than to ignore them. Just my 2 cents. We had 70 big bad nasty loud boats and did not recieve one citation at Oshkosh Thunder this year.

Don't know how Michigan works, but it's almost impossible to get a permit in Wisconsin that excludes you from noise, other than a flat out racing event. If you know of ways to get permits for noise that stand up in court, I would love to hear them. TIA
