It's Bill's pride and joy, so I think to make sure it is all off you should dry sand with 220.:evilb:

Is it Painted on or Vinvl? How long has it been on there?

marineclean 06-27-2008 09:56 AM

If I remember correctly it's vinyl and has been on since the time of dinosaurs. :D

Hey Freeryd...this girl says she would be happy to come up and lick the old name off the back of your boat...

I have a couple uses for her when she is done with the boat.

I am getting more anxious by the day!

Then you will see where it was, if not wet sanded.

I just peeled a vinyl off our new boat by hand w no heat, however it was only on for one year.

My last boat had a painted name for 14 years. I carefully scraped it with a fresh razor blade then wet DA Sanded it with 3M 30 micron polishing paper then 15micron, 9 and last with 3. Lastly it was wheeled and waxed. looked great.

Marineclean, when you say set up in the parking lot. What do you mean? Detailing? or just demos. I think mine needs a tune up. I think I might wanna try some thing new.

Shawn,
Marineclean will be set up in front of the Boyne City Motel.
They will have a complete crew there to do whatever your little heart desires.
They do awesome work, I seen some of it this spring at the Miami Show.
Talk to Donnie, but I think he said they will do anything from a simple wash to a complete detail. Boat, Trailer and Truck if you want.

marineclean 06-27-2008 10:48 PM

I'll be doing interiors and polishing in the hotel lot. I will also have the pressure washers setup for road grime. I'm bringing a small crew, so we should be able to handle the traffic. I probably won't be buffing except for removing a name, kind of hard to do in a parking lot without cover, but we'll see what the weather allows.:D
