Was my first poker run. Weather could have been better, but we still had a great time.

We had a pretty strong shower leaving T Rivers heading to Friends. It was raining too hard to try to dock again at T Rivers, so everyone went into the cabin, and I stayed at the helm keeping the boat in the middle of the channel.

The rain lasted for about 15 minutes. We dried off, and headed to Friends. After lunch we stamped at Salty's, then headed to Pass Manchac. The sky was black, and the wind was getting cold. I headed to Mittendorf's and tied up.

The storm that hit had advisories from National Weather. 60 MPH winds, alot of lightining, thunder, and hail. We had lunch at Mittendorf's and waited out the storm. Several boats tried to come in, but there was no wher to park. I felt sorry for them. I didn't want to be out there in the middle of that.

After the storm, the sky cleared, we headed to prop stop, rafted up to some other boats, and played our poker hands.
Watched the wet t contest, and put the boat on the trailer at about 7:30.

Even with the weather, I call it a great time for my first poker run. After I wash the boat, the first thing I am doing is buying two complete rain suits, and a helmet. You never know when you will need them. Just the little shower we had leaving T rivers dropped the temp, and I was freezing. I am glad I had brought some changes of clothes.
