POWER FOR A CURE POKER RUN 2009: to Benefit the American Cancer Society!

Great New course - Smooth water - all size boats welcome
Start and End at Waterside Marina - Norfolk VA
Capt. Meeting Friday Night at Black Finn's Restaurant. at Waterside.
Capt. Bag for each boat
Social time on the docks afterward
Registration includes dockage for Friday and Saturday Night at Waterside Marina!
Registration includes Friday nite party and entertainment
Registration includes breakfast saturday morning
Registration includes lunch for 2 at kokomo's on Saturday with swimming pool.
Registration includes Dinner for 2 at Awards Party, Dinner provided by Outback, at Black Finns Rest at Waterside (in Air Conditioning)
There will be a live auction - items will be good stuff - stuff you WANT! Don't let some out bid you on . . . . . can't divulge items yet.
Video of the event after the fact.
Randy Nuzzo will be shooting stills available for sale.
Cash Prizes for 1st thru 5th place
Trophies for a number of recognitions-Best dressed crew, Nicest engine, Best paint, Best looking boat, & Longest distance towed.
Two Event T-Shirts for the Capt and 1 Crew Member (total of 4).

Basic Schedule of events
Thurs:
Nothing official planned - this year yet - next year may have a welcoming party
Come in early and check out some of the best boating in the area

Fri nite:
Last minute registration
Secure docking at Waterside Marina with security
Mandatory Captains (ONLY) meeting
Friday nite Party right after Captains Meeting
(Next year may have a fun run somewhere for lunch or maybe a kilo shoot out)

Saturday:
Breakfast provided on the docks
Poker run will blast off around 10AM
Lunch Stop with swimming pool
Social time on the docks afterward
A nice Dinner and party starts around 6:00 at Waterside in air conditioning!
Cash awards given out for 1st, 2nd, 3ed, 4th and 5th place
Awards given for Best dressed crew, Nicest engine, Best paint, Best looking boat, & Longest distance towed.
Live auction

Sunday:
Your time to do as you please


More details/surprises are being ironed out - and I'll update you as get it.
Not all details are firmed up yet. We have more in the works, but are NOT mentioned until it is locked in.

Hotel Accommodations
We have a block of rooms with better than normal rates set up.
Call the Sheraton Waterside, ask for Elizabeth in sales.
Tell her you are in the American Cancer Society poker run and would like the $109.00 rate.

Bill is there a host hotel for this event?....and also is there going to be a band or DJ at the Party Saturday?

Sheriton hotel Next to Waterside. Working on reduced rates.

There is a band out of Greeneville, NC ....Spare Change... that is really good. You won't be disappointed.

We will be there, We have always had a great time partying at Waterside. Last year we were in a Poker Run out of Waterside and after the party there was a dock party until 5 am , Thats when we had to tell 17 people to get off the boat we were out of beer and vodka.

I have a vague recollection of partying at a poker run at waterside myself last year.....

Waterside IS a good marina for a poker run - no permanent boats, hooters is truely the CLOSEST bar, the entire dock is full of participants during a PR, close hotels, close breakfast places for Russ to soak up his liquor intake from the night before
