We were amongst the first to leave Smithfield, so there weren't many boats at Portsmouth when we arrived. Sounds like the action picked up shortly thereafter. At least the fight didn't break out until after dinner....

Matt Hall passes Reggie Fountain at Windmill Point

Reggie was first to the corner, but Matt came out in the lead.

Don't know how the next turn came out, but both were extremely fast.

I had to work last year and could hear the boats coming up river before the start. (I'm Postmaster for Charles City) and swore I would be there rain, sleet snow or .....wait, you get the idea. Weather was terrible for taking pics, but I will be there next year if I'm breathing.

Boat actually belongs to a very good friend named Bobby who lives at the north tower there on the James. I am designated driver and wrencher which is a pretty good deal. The best friend is one with a boat.
