Hudson River Spring Fun Run May 7, 2011
After thousands of emails back and forth with potential guests, OK maybe it was three emails...We have decided based on everyone's schedules, to have the Fun Run on Saturday May 7th and May 8th. We will follow the same schedule as last year in the fall.
Saturday May 7th: In the morning we will be leaving Cannonball Marina at 11am heading south to see the NYC skyline and Statue of Liberty. I will try to set up Tim Sharkey for a photo shoot in the NYC harbor. Last year, he got some great shots with the boats in front of the Empire State Building. Afterwards we will be returning to Cannonball Marina where we can load the boats on the trailers and grab a late lunch / early dinner at a local restaurant that is to be determined soon.
Sunday, May 8th: In the morning we will leaving again at about 11am and heading North to the Steel House restaurant in Roundout Creek for a raft up and lunch. Maybe if we beg and plead, Sharkey will attend both days for photos. After lunch, and some good conversation, we will be heading back to the Cannonball Marina where we will be able to have some appetizers and drinks before calling it a day.
Please give me a boat and head count so I can make the necessary arrangements at the marina and restaurants. I am currently working with the marina on onsite storage for boats and trailers and/or transient slips for those who want to stay in the water. As soon as I have more details on this I will post it. I will also be checking the tide charts and make any necessary time adjustments as we get closer.
REMEMBER: This is a family style get together. Bring the kids and the wife and lets hang and do some boating. This is not s race..... So we are open to all boat sizes and speeds and we will have stoping points to wait for the slower boats.
ALSO: This event is FREE to anyone, just come hang out for the day or the weekend. We are just a group of boaters that love showing new to the area boaters a great time and we love to have fun.
So lets hear some ideas and them Ill post the actual dates, times, ect in a another post once I have some feedback.
This is where all the fun will begin.

Any day is fine by me. I'm in for the 3rd annual run even if I have to row. Good time as always.
