Lake Cumberland Friday Lunch Run
Well unless the mother nature shuts us down again this year we are planning a lunch run to Conley Bottom on Friday before the poker run. We will leave the State Dock harbor at 11 eastern for the run up the lake. I think it's 22 miles up there so it won't take long.
If everyone that is going would post a rough head count here I can get it to the restaurant so they can be ready for us. |
I will be there with three in my boat.
I would go, but by the time my 45 mph turd got there yall would be done eating
I am in with four
Blondes Preferred |
We're in
I will probably be there and also the world famous T MAN
We are planning on making it, and there will be four of us. We may have a friend who will make it, and if they do, they will probalby have 4-6 people. But, probalby won't know for sure, to later in the week.
As long as the weather holds i'll be there with 3 boats, 8-10 people.
more than likely i will have 4 in my boat and 4 in my friends spectre. we are looking for lunch and a party cove as seen in previous years pics
Weather and carb permitting we will be there with 2 in my boat.
Count on two more boats with seven people.
We are a possible. Don't want to commit and then not follow thru if it's raining.
6 in my crew |
Currently 3 on the TF
Well im sitting here on the houseboat watching it rain. What's everyone thinking?
Hello??? It's 10:51 and I'm the only one here

Ive only been to conley bottom once, and that was to stop in and fuel up, so I havent really dealt with them there. I asked the guy that helped me how to get there by road, and he gave me a look of confusion and said "I dont really know". LOL
Sorry to hear that guys. I've had one boat or another docked at Conley for six years and have had nothing but good interactions with the owners and staff.

Not at all. We had several boats and nearly fifty people. If only we had gone to a dock that wasn't run by such a pr-ck. I will never go back even though the girls did a fine job there.
We ran up the lake with the Black Thunder and the all blue fountain. Parked right away and when inside and ask the lady to wait on us. Had our food with 15 minutes. Finished up and looked around and look at the big picture of the raft up. Then headed back to Harmon. They were should pack in there by 3:00pm, more houseboats then I ever have seen in there. All and all a good day Friday.

Any pics from the weekend? Missed it this year. :(

HERE Number of photos growing for the next couple hours. Fair warning, just a boating schmuck with a camera, not even close to professional grade. I didn't get to party cove till near 4 on Saturday, and I have never seen it so crowded. I made a few attempts, but there was no way I could find to get back in to jacks branch, it was just too packed. The overflow outside into harmon was more than I've ever seen in jacks branch before! Next year, it's straight to party cove before the lunch break. And as a side note about conley. They averted a major disaster Saturday afternoon. A bayliner runabout tied between two docked houseboats caught fire. The crew managed to get it knocked down enough with fire extinguishers to cut it loose and drag it out in to the harbor and then put it out with the fire boat. It was docked on the main pier. That could have been REAL ugly. |
As I said the girls there did a great job of taking care of us but yes there was an issue with "good 'ol Charlie" right of the bat. I guess it was between the two of us but it was in front of about 20 of the first ones there and we talked about leaving right then. I assured him I would never spend a dime at his place and I will stick to that.

Food was good, as was the service. We won't return either though. |
So what set him off?
I must have missed something .

Sounds like a jerk. I like Lees Ford's food better anyway. You can drink their also.
Yeah, he said he got closed down for having beer on his dock.
Guess he has never heard of State Dock. He is just a grumpy old man. :) BTW, do you have to get the photo pics from Boatpixs by mail? Their website doesn't have a photo page to view before buying. |
Us1... imaposer has quite a few pics of what I believe would be your boat!? Page 18 or 19 I believe if you hadn't seen them already...
Yes, I saw them. Nice quality pics!
Was hoping to have a nice aireal shot, but then my crew was busy taking pics of the chopper shooting us. I told them to put their phones down and look straight ahead, I didn't want nerd pics. :) |

I wll admit it was my fault and yes I was in the wrong. I brought a beer onto the dock beside my boat and he came out and unloaded on me. The beer was covered just as I have done for the last 15 yrs of boating down there and I've never had a problem anywhere else. When I say he unloaded I really mean unloaded and told the roughly 20 people standing around us that we could just go elsewhere. Like I said I've been boating there for a long time and understand the whole dry county thing but come on. This was a cloudy kind of cold day and we are bringing you about 50 people for lunch to add to the 5 you have when we get there.
I guess he doesn't get around to the other docks much. He could have just asked you to put the beer away. Screw him. |
