Who's coming west for the Lake Havasu Boat Show and Desert Storm this spring, April 20-28? The Boat Show and Desert Storm are only a couple of days apart. The Havasu Boat Show will also host a POPRA Offshore Grand Prix event plus water ski racing and a hot rod car show. Should be some good times.

For those headed to Lake Havasu for the 2012 Lake Havasu Boat Show and Desert Storm, here's the latest update on the schedule of events: Havasu Boat Show opens at noon on Friday, April 20 and runs through Sunday April 22. The POPRA offshore races, water ski races and Legends by the Lake car show take place on that Saturday and Sunday. Monday, April 23 are by-appointment boat demos and Performance Boats Magazine boat tests at Windsor Beach Launch Ramp. Tuesday, April 24 is a Desert Storm by-invitation manufacturers "lunch run" to Pirate Cove Resort. Wednesday, April 25 is the "Havasu for Youth Boat Rides" for special needs children at the Nautical Inn docks. Later that evening (6:30pm) is a "Welcome to Desert Storm" beer and brawts party at OCM. Thursday, April 26 is the world famous "Street Party" on McCulloch Blvd. starting at noon. Friday, April 27 is the Desert Storm Poker Run and boat parade under the London Bridge at 10:00am. Saturday, April 28 is the "Shoot Out" top speed competition which has been moved over to a new course at the Site Six area. My girlfriend is taking me to Arizona for this week for my Birthday so we will be in Havasu for the party on the 26th and 27th. Looking forward to having alot of fun...

Just a suggestion -- if you're coming to the Havasu Boat Show and Desert Storm for the first time, make your hotel reservations now! Things book-up in hurry. Check out the Boat Show website (click on "Havasu Do/Eat/Stay") for hotel info -- several hotels are offering discounts if you mention the Boat Show. If you're coming in a group, you might also want to check out renting a home for the week -- lots of availability and good rates.

Never been there before But already signed up this year. Taking INXS for the first time should be a great time. When I signed up you check a box if you want to display in the street party. That's want I did.

Anybody interested in getting a display spot for the Thursday, April 26 "Street Party" at Desert Storm should contact Jim Nichols through his website, www.lakeracerllc.com. There is a nominal charge to display, but it's well worth it. The "Street Party" starts at noon and goes until about 10pm (or whenever everyone decides to leave). If you'd also like to display at the Havasu Boat Show a few days earlier (April 20-22), contact Bob Brown -- www.lakehavasuboatshow.com. If you happen to have a cool street rod that you'd like to show during the boat show, the "Legends by the Lake" car show happens as a part of the boat show on Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22 plus boat racing!
