Use the ramp at Tappen Beach GlenWood landing. Stay on the side close to the bulkhead. When u head out from the ramp stay straight until u get out into the middle of the harbor. there will be at least 4 boats coming out of glen cove creek . It's a five min run from where u launch to where we meet up for the run.

I went around Manhatten a few weeks ago and launched from Oyster Bay. It was 100 miles round trip. A friend of mine has his boat in the marina at Tappen Beach in Hempstead Harbor. I took at look at the ramp there a few weeks ago during dead low tide. I think I could launch my 28 there under those conditions. I would think it would be 75miles round trip from there. I was actually thinking of doing the Manhatten run again tomorrow when I saw this. There is plenty of parking. I going to try to meet up by you guys just for the run if that's ok? Hope I can keep up! Lol Looks like it will be a great day tomorrow.

If anyone needs info on how to get to Tappen Beach let me know.

I have used the tappen beach ramp for this run the last 2 years. Launch a 31' cig and never had any problems. Last year launched with a 35' sonic and a 38' nortech. I will actually be there tomorrow for the run between 11:00-11:30.

It is always a good time. The wind forecast is 13mph . Once we get in the east river the wind is not much a factor.
