Default September Lake Cumberland Poker Run lodging options???

We need lodging for the September Lake Cumberland Poker Run. All the houseboats at the State Park are rented. What are my best options. We would like to be on or near the action and leave the boat in a slip.

They may have a block of rooms at the lodge if you enter the poker run.

If you enter the run you'll have a slip. They block a bunch off for the poker run boats. there is plenty. The have the lodge @ the top of the hill with shuttles running constantly. They do block off a section of rooms for the poker runners. Decent rooms with decent prices. I've stayed there the past two years. Called the Lure Lodge.

Get your name on the waiting list for a houseboat. There's usually a few cancellations, otherwise the lodge is the next best place to be.

Well we got a 63' houseboat at Jamestown. Is it going to be one of those pitted out college party house boats or will the wife be ok? Looking forward to the trip it's my first time at Lake Cumberland.

The houseboats are decent but keep in mind that they are rented out year round so there will be some wear and tear. I dock at State Dock (directly across channel) and that's where the action will be. Most likely you will might elect to not even move the houseboat and just use it as sleeping quarters. Its safe to bring the wife...
