August 22. 2015 Upstate ,NY FREE FUN RUN! Lake Ontario Boat N Float
Inaugural Lake Ontario Boat N Float. Saturday, August 22. 2015 Upstate ,NY FREE FUN RUN! This is a powerboat fun run that will be starting in Sodus Bay, Ny and going to the river in Oswego, Ny for lunch. We are also planning a radar run in Lake Ontario after lunch. We will return to Sodus bay Saturday afternoon/ evening where the night life is very popular for anyone that wants to hang out. Anyone and everyone with a motorboat is welcome. The run will be approximately a 50 mile round trip. We also plan to do some partying Sunday the 23rd on the bays famous "sand bar" for anyone that wants to spend the night. This will be a free gathering of friends that like to have fun on their boats. NO commitments, registration fees, prizes, money, bets or drama. Lake Ontario and surrounding bays is a very fun area with lots of restaurants, bars and activities that many upstate New Yorker Boaters take for granted. More details to follow as we get closer to summer. Please mark your calendars and don't forget to share with your boating friends and family. Safe Boating Suggestions *Highly recommend wearing life vests and kill switch tethers* * Strongly suggest leaving the alcohol consumption for after the run, especially drivers * * This is a very large lake, give each other room. There is no need to be jumping each others wake or running side by side close enough to grab the other boats cleat. This is also a big plus of running in a large lake, there should be a lot less cross waves* * Look behind you before turning, changing direction or coming off plane. Raise your hands when coming off plane especially if its unexpected* Be courteous and respectful when tying up. “If you only have 2 dirty fenders don’t tie up to a $100,000 Fountain with a custom paint job” Always use your brain, think about it before doing it. MOST IMPORTANT. HAVE FUN! IF for some reason the weather decides not to cooperate. We will make a decision the night before and post it on offshore only and the facebook page. If we are forced to reschedule, it will be pushed to the following weekend . |
