See that people are already getting reservations and planning for the 2017 Tickfaw. I guess that can be next weeks project, I'm going to make it this year come hell or high water. If anyone wants to share in a large house I'm in, I have some friends in Baton Rouge that can help.

for you guys that have done this run before, once you drop boat in at blood river marina, do quite a few side tie to sea wall if all slips are booked since they shut the ramp down at noon on Friday?
I am assuming they charge to leave trailer there for weekend if staying at hotel? Just trying to get an idea of how they do things since we have never done this run and are planning on doing it this year.

Yes, plenty of room to tie up at the marina. No charge for leaving the trailer. The marina crew will have you unhitch, hook your trailer up to their tractor, and go park your trailer for you (valet trailer parking service).

one last question for now, is this run overall kid friendly? My son who will be 13 on May 4th loves go fast boats and doing poker runs with us and he is already watching videos on you tube from previous runs and excited to go. (probably cause he gets out of school for 2 days to go boating and hang with the big boys so to speak, LOL)
I know there are certain places he wont be allowed due to being under age like the funhouse from what I was told.

Most of the stops have areas for minors, but like most other poker runs, he will get an eyeful.
In reply to your earlier post, if you arrive too late to launch at the marina, there is a nice public landing nearby. I like to launch there and park my truck and trailer in the fields so I can haul it out on Saturday night. If you use the free valet trailer parking you won't be able to get to your trailer until Sunday.
There is a canal that loops around the adjacent neighborhood where everyone ties up at night.
It's a little shallow but nothing a little trim won't fix.
A word of caution - if you launch at the marina, you better have your stuff together because EVERYONE is watching and will heckle you if you screw up! (all in fun though)
It is a laid back good time, and you will have a great time!
