July 15th 2017 will be the most beautiful and exciting and generous Poker Run you’ve ever attended.
The 1000 Islands Charity Poker Run – The inaugural event
The venue is the new 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel in the beautiful 1000 Islands on the St Lawrence River in Clayton, NY. Have a look at the venue and the area from the air.

We are PROUD to say that we are doing an event that is 100% charitable. ALL proceeds with be donated.

Our primary recipient in 2017 will the The Wellness Center at River Hospital in the 1000 Islands at Alexandria Bay. The Wellness Center treats veterans with both PTSD and TBI. It’s an expanding program with fantastic successes.

Some other beneficiaries of this event will be the Local Food Pantry, The Clayton Youth Program, TIERS Ambulance Service and 2 local volunteer Fire Departments that serve the river communities, the river and the islands.

There are 1864 Islands in a 40 mile stretch of clear, protected, calm, fresh water river here with a course that will be about 140 miles of beautiful running that day. There will be ‘slow zones’ so you can savor the beauty of the area and to be safe around summer traffic and then there are long stretches to let her run!!!

We have 2 real castles here, 72 degree fresh swimming water in July that you can see bottom in 30 feet!!! Heaven on Earth for boaters. You will have the opportunity to tour both castles.

I hope this helps... We promise to raise the bar on every single thing except the price. We are going to provide more of everything. More volunteers, more charitable contributions, more slow zones to savor the river and the islands, more long stretches to really let the boats run. More calm water because we rarely have rough water in this protected river. 1864 islands helps to ensure that. More prizes and prize money, more fabulous food, more entertainment, more spectator crowds. The village of Clayton has already approved, for Friday afternoon and evening, us having boats on display in the street and in the local park on the water all within a couple hundred yards of the front door of a beautiful hotel. This is really one to consider when planning the 2017 poker run season and the summers vacation travel. The committee has already spoken to multiple people who are going to travel long distances to be a part of this as well as people within our own market who have been out of it for a while and see this as a fantastic value, a fantastic venue and a great opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause. I have one more "more" to add. We are going to have more to do for the family or your traveling guests. Tour castles by boat or vineyards or an 1812 battlefield. The area is steeped in romantic history. Plan a few extra days because you're not going to want to leave. The area of the thousand Islands has long been referred to as "the freshwater boating capital of the world". Plan on coming to this event and find out why it was where the monied elite vacationed 100 years ago and is now considered to be a best kept secret.

Hi there. We are working on the budget number right now and will release pricing hopefully soon. We promise to be in-line with other events if not a bit less. This is a 100% charity event and we want to do our best to serve that aspect as well as have a great event! We promise to make this one for the record books. You will have the best of everything we can think of including great new docks, assigned and included in the entry!!! And the food?? ahhh. Memorable. All of it. The bands.. all 3, lol. memorable. We are excited to have this amazing new venue and to be raising money to help area veterans with PTSD and TBI. We proudly honor our soldiers here and there is a clinic here that helps them. We're simply giving back.

Registration will open on-line at this point March 1st, 2017. 100 Boat limit. It would be awesome if you could indicate your interest in advance. There is a new Facebook page 1000 Islands Charity Poker Run and we are working on the web site.

Thank you for your questions.

Looks very well thought out.

Also looks to be the same weekend Pirates of Lanier used to be. Since that looks like it is no longer happening, this is on my calendar.
