It's that time of the year again.

The annual Rat Rally will be held on the first Friday in May (7th) as always. It’s a rather unorganized first run of the year covering most of Pool 4. It’s a great time and like always men only (seriously!). Generally groups of boats will have breakfast together on the water. Then everyone will meet up on Long Point Peninsula, near Lake City, MN (generally 50-80 performance boats). Then we stop at various bars on the water. If anyone is unfamiliar with this run and would like to attend shot me a PM

Boating in the cold, bar hopping, Mississippi River all on a Friday? YeeHaa.....So far so good!

Yep we leave form the campgrounds. I think we leave about 8am and boat up to the pioneer for the breakfast buffet. I'm usually only half awake or hung over so I may be wrong on the time we leave.

Boy time flies. We're down to just another 6 weeks or so! These 60 degree says are making the wait unbearable.

Mens day on the river, not an organized event, but loads of fun for a 1st time spring get together.

Yes the RW patrol is finicky about noise. Beware if you go up that way. However, I used my Corsa Q&Q and had no problems last year on the poker run.

From what I've been told it was started by a couple fisherman along time ago.

To date, no one from our group has had any problems with the water patrol on this run. Up untill a couple years ago they wheren't even on the water this early. I did see and hear of one boat getting stopped. But from what I heard, they asked for it. They where parties big time right in front of the WP(nothing to do with exhaust) As for the rest of the year that's a different story.

As for our poker run. There is a way to get around the noise law, due to the fact that it's an event.
