I have personally never seen a BBC combo that wouldn't tolerate 35 deg timing, but I guess it could happen. I would ask the engine builders opinion if there is any type of warranty involved.

I added the second (lower) tie bar on my 35 Nordic to use as a boarding ladder. It worked great and there was no binding. Unless you have a ladder, i would leave it alone.

The IMCO lower should supply plenty of water at speed to keep the intercooler pressurized. You may even have to put a pressure regulator on it depending on your water pressure.
