Default #33 for the new Belgian P1 powerboat team

It's final. The new Belgian P1 powerboat team will race with # 33.
As we speak, the Fountain Powerboat is getting a new hadge due to the fact that they will not use Ilmor engines but Mercury's. They are somewhat bigger (due to the supercharger). The team Colpin-Hemelaer want their powerboat to be state of the art. No surprises wanted on the starting line in the races. This means that when the boat arrives in Belgium, tests need to be carried out. "We want to be sure that we run a perfect machine here", Colpin states.

And now for some first images of their new Fountain Powerboat! Belgian P1 team Colpin-Hemelaer races with #33

Default Boat name

This new Belgian team will name their boat: #33 Furnibo.

Other good news is that the team manager is appointed. It is 25 year old Stein De Bruycker. At this age he is the youngest team member and probably the youngest team manager ever to be seen in the Powerboat P1 world. He is an electronic aircraft engineer of C-130 airplanes.

Default 2B1 Racing Team from Belgium in #33 Furnibo Fountain

Hi

The Belgian team racing with #33 Furnibo Fountain has got a name: 2B1 Racing Team. Read it as 'To be one' as you already might have seen. Even better ... "2B1, the best is yet to come"

Default More good news

More good news is that Benjamin Van Riet will be the reserve pilot for 2B1 Racing Team. Benjamin competed during the previous P1 season in the Supersport Class with the yellow Chaudron 'Spirit of Portomaso'.

Default Succesful test for 2B1 Racing Team with #33 Furnibo

On May 21 team 2B1 performed a succesful test. Circumstances were very good for this first sea trial which was held at Blankenberge (Belgium). Throttleman Frank Hemelaer and pilot Pierre Colpin were full of confidence as was the rest of the entire crew. Nico van Akelijen tuned all the horses beneath the specially designed hatch. Still graphics are missing but soon this Fountain Lightning 40 will be flying in full colors.

Well, actually it's what you take as true end of the boat that will define this (that's my info).

reading on the P1 site this is the previous Champion from 2007 and 2008 with new bigger Mercury Engines and now sterndrives
the King of Shaves and Fountain World Wide set up was Ilmors and Arneson Surface Drives
would be interesting how it performs with this set up, it already turned very well with the Arnesons
now I beleive that sterndrives are easyier on the turns that SDs altough in bad weather I think the Arneson will give surely a better performance...
for the extra HP which equals more peed the Foutain hulls have beaten any record and with the 100+ mph of last year it look comfortable enough so sure, a comple more numbers want do any harm
this is very interesting and I cannot wait to see how it goes especially versus the Cigarette which over here looked like a bullet, having an advantage of a minimum of 10% versus the OLimits
