2 surprises 1 in each class
53 Metamarine in Evo seems slow versus the competition
and the same for 43 Seagull in SS
those Donzi seemed to have gone on another planet with the Arnesons Surface Drives
can somone give a time for the races tommorow, as I am was confused and did not listen to nothing on P1 radio
please give Turkish times

Congrat's to Team 26!! This should be great for the race as they are stagged from closest to farthest both from the pace boat and the turn 1 buoy for both races. :D

I saw the pictures
and Metamarine by these alone looked sticky to the water, but also less prone to chining a trend the Metamarine boat usually has especially in high speeds over 100 mph
seems sticky boats are suffering a bit the conditions in Turkey as also the Chaudrons 41 is quite a sticky boat and placed 4th and 5th in SS
but then also Outerlimits is quite a sticky hull and they did come first

ufix1 06-19-2009 02:53 PM

what do you want to exactly mean by sticky?

liam 06-19-2009 03:43 PM

that the boat runs lower and has more waterline on the water...

Rik 06-19-2009 03:53 PM

Fornutately, they are all running on the same water and the conditions are the same for all. Turkey was expected to be a calm race as it is protected so according to plan there I belive. Malta was the suprise water.

liam 06-20-2009 03:49 AM

yes Rik but listening to Sgro and Bohinc, there seems to be a lot of current with confused small waves
that is why sticky boats suffer more
we see what the race will offer later on today

but you are right conditions are the same for everyone
but I do accept these conditions to suit more US american hulls, because is what you have in your big lakes more or less

I think by sticky, one means that the boat doesn't have much lift. The Outerlimits boats run very neutral by design, yet with the unique design, show great speeds as evident in the power pole and saturday's sprint race. The Cig and Fountain run nose high which is typically fast, but can be unstable, especially in choppy or rough water.
