Indy, I might be able to talk some of the Md Powerplays to head north. Sounds like fun. I've been to Old Saybrook many times. I had relatives that used to live there. One of these days I'm going to have to boat up there.

Semper Fi 02-14-2007 02:51 PM

Hi guys! I'm still around here "lurking" every now and then :D

I would (if at all possible) keep the name "Powerplay". No offense, but it sounds 110% better than "Lattitude" boats.

It might also help you sell/market the boats........Powerplay is a widely recognized name.

So you either talked to Billy or Chris (Ocean Performance). I think we going to come up to the Fall run again. It was a great time last year. I'm pretty sure were doing the Seneca Pirates run in June. Are you going to do that?? I know Jromy was thinking about going as well. What are the others from LG that are thinking of coming down to our run??

I think his name was Chris and his wife (or girlfriend).
Went out to dinner with epeek-Rick, his brother Bret (36 Baja) and Kevin (38 yellow Donzi) last Saturday night. I asked them about Mohegan and the Seneca Lake run and they were interested in both. We may not bring all the boats tho. I haven't talked to Bob yet but I'm sure he'd like to bring the Gladiator. I'll ask the rest of the guys when I see them.:drink:

Yes, come on down to the Mohegan. There is a free lift off service for participants. It's one on the best Poker Runs around. This year it should be twice as big. The same goes for Indy, Jeromy and anyone else. I dont own a Powerplay but sure like them.

Dan...we'll be get together with you and Ken a number of times this year.

What is the route of the Mohegan Sun PR?

My only problem is that I have a steel trailer. Is there any place to launch that is in fresh water around there. I could always drop it in in Albany and take the Hudson. Takes about 4 hours to get to Manhattan and about $500.00 in fuel one way.

There's a number of ramps that are mostly fresh...Stratford, & Old Saybrook come to mind.

Dan...Saybrook is mostly fresh right?

Yep!! The route is Old Saybrook to just south of Claudios/Greenport for a card. Then around Shelter Island at 50mph. Next we go to Block Island in new harbour for lunch. After lunch we run up the Thames to the USS Nautilus for a card, then back to Saybrook. The awards and party is at Mohegan Friday and Saturday night. I'd say Old Saybrook is mostly fresh water. You can rinse off your trailer after you dunk it at Ocean Performance. If you really dont want to dunk it lift off service is available at no charge.

I would guess if he has any involvement at all, it would only be in a working or consulting manner. I doubt he would have any "control" of anything.

Yes, bring them all. It's worth the entry fee. There are going to be some awesome boats there this year!! There is no better run event. How many Poker Runs are at one of the largest performance boat dealers in the U.S. with full service??
Seneca sounds like it's going to be a great event!!

baja27 02-16-2007 07:51 AM

Xpress 33PP The first one is the cnc mill right now, once complete I will post some pics.:D

It doesn't matter where you run. Your 33 would do fine on this run. Not all the boats run WOT the whole time. If the water kicks up you could find yourself towards the front. We were boat number 6 to the first card stop last year.:D:D

I have tired 502s with POS 26s. They run fine but have 425 hours on them. I hope to get at least an uppper end rebuild on them sometime so I can have some more confidence in running them harder. I generally cruise around 50-55. I blew through my prop and exhaust budget investing in my business this winter so looks like I'll be running those POS 26s until I get the money to have them tweaked. If I can get these props done by the run (or any run for that matter) my numbers will creep up a bit.

Dan...cool with the rough, it has a way of bringing most boats down to my cruise speed LOL!!!! We were talking about a Block Island run too, who started that one? (Sean, Wes?) Also, how many miles is the MSPR approximately?

OL40SVX 02-17-2007 05:54 PM

Indy,
The run is about 125 miles, so it's a nice long run. Who do you have do your prop work?? Hale propellor in CT does a great job and you cant beat their prices.
