PP 25 speed

hi every one

I was curious to know what speed a 25PP would do with twins 300 promax and with what prop's pitch and height..

a friend of mine just bought one and told me he makes 66.8 knots on gps. I thought with that power it would make more.In the classified, the guy with the t/ 250's claim to reach 84mph..

also, how does it handle in rough water ? I was told it was quite surprising for a 25.

Last question; were there several types of entry for the little cabin cause my friend's one is really little...

with that kind of power on that awsome rough water boat your friend should be in the 80's. as for the cabins there are 2 types,a center entry which are the new type and the open cabin. if u look in the powerplay post under history of the 25 and read the ads u will gain alot of info on the 25pp and the about the 2 cabins. can u e-mail me some pics of that powerplay so i can post them. e-mail me at [email protected].

With twin 200 Opti's, 1/2 tank of fuel, my 115 lbs. girlfriend, plus my 205 lbs. butt on a hot, steamy South Florida Sunday... I hit 77 mph on the Gaffrig. When the temp drops and the humidity clears... an easy 80 mph. Again, on the Gaffrig. REAL speed is different! I don't have a GPS, but would guess I'm not really going THAT fast.

Mid 80's with a pair of 250 Opti's is realistic. With twin 300's, an easy 90 mph, but you'll be hanging the hull out to dry. Be prepared for some chine-walking. With good driver skill, it's not an issue.

yess, i think he has a big problem with the motors... they seems to run well but they are not pushing enough...

he doesn't have counter rotation, do you think it could be a reason of the lack of performance ?

Counter rotation shouldnt have much of an effect on speed. Maybe he isn't propped correctly. What size props and what RPM's is he spinning?

My 25' was rigged with a pair of 2000 225 Pro Maxes with stock Bravo I's. Certainly not the fastest props and I was hittling 78 on GPS.

Spoke to Dan Weinstein years ago and he said they were getting low 80's with the Pro Maxes and 3 blade choppers. With 2.5's he was getting 88 mph.

I'm sure with a couple of strong 300X's and the right props you can hit 90 mph.

I have just rerigged to a pair of 2005 225 Pro Max X's and am not quite dialed in just yet. At the moment I'm getting 75 on gps, but the port side engine is not turning the R's like the Starboard side.

I just changed the map sensor on the port side and it seems to be a little better, but not there yet.

Ultimately I'm going to have my mechanic pull both on the dyno to see where I'm at.

KDS, did you get yours together yet?

C'mon it's been a while.

I say YES that is an ishue . He needs counter rotation and let them spin IN.
Thats what PP like on a outbord.

realistikly 85+ is it for a 25 foot hull.
Everything over that is not fun .

65 knots = 74.9 MPH.

Why don't you post the question here? Quite a few of us know the hull pretty well. In any event, just PM Ed, I'm sure he'll respond.

powerplay25, i am now trying to get a nice pair of used 300x but i am comming up short. lookin for a pair at a reasonable price because customs alone where i am from is 21% of the cost of the engines and that does not include shipping to the british virgin islands.i did over and strenghten the stern .i also put in 2 knees to support the the stern with those engines i am putting on.
