1988 Power Play 33' center console?

I am supposed to take a rather long drive tommorrow morning to look at what i thought was a 1998 powerplay 33' CC, after he sent me a copy of the title it is listed as a 1988 Power Play 32'7" , i cant find any information on this hull, it is powered by twin outboards. It was a smoking deal if it was a 1998, but as a 1988 it is just so-so, my problem is i cant find anything about this boat at all? any information would be much appreciated

owner of the boat passed away two years ago, it now belongs to his son who lives in Chicago, he has sold his fathers house and now has to get rid of the boat, it is on a lift in Marco Island, but hasnt been run in years, unfortunately the only pictures he has are of it on the lift and with the cover on it, from the lines of the bow and sides it kinda looks like it may have been converted from a standard 33' offshore racer

Ed did you build the 1st boats from the cobra mold ? the deck looks like a cut off cobra deck and also seems heavy. The sides seem to have a light lay up because they flex a lot. the center console is very small and square with a giant windshield and no usable storage, like an old scarab sport . No bracket and transom mounted o/b's. Was this one of the 1st c.c. built? It is in very rough shape with rot and stress cracks in a couple of places. The gel is very chalky also. The newer models are vastly improved.

Yes Jay, that one looks to be "one" of the earliest fish boats. Most were all gray gelcoat, top to bottom. They were built from the old wavy center-console molds, just as we got them, with no new tooling work to them, up until the 1992 rework. They ran pretty good, for the power, in the rough. When new, with the usual pair of 200 Mercs on the transom, the boat typically had 5-7 mph on the 30' Scarab CC of the day. What makes you say it seems heavy? Did you seatrial the boat? It may have rain water trapped in the bilge, due to it sitting all those years on a lift(?) Its an older saltwater boat, so the items you point out don't really surprise me. I see its currently listed on CraigsList.
