The PowerPlay has a lot more freeboard and is less in weight, so it is quicker with the same power.

Both are well built boats, but the PowerPlay definetly stands out in many catagories.

That weight must just be hull only.

I believe there are only 3-4 single 28's out there, so a very rare setup?

I just bought one of them:evilb:

I haven't been out yet (just finished registration yesterday).

So far I'm very hapy with the boat, but can't compare it to a Pantera 1st person as I haven't been on one. From my research though, and the reason I went PP over Pantera, was the greater freeboard and faster ride. The bilge is short, so it's tough to fit a big block length wise. Likewise, I think the Pantera may have a slightly bigger cockpit. The result is a longer cabin though in the PP.

I bought the 96 with the single HP500 out of TX (it appears it was actually rigged and sold in 99 though!). I can't post pics here and don't have any good ones yet.

I've been basically just wrenching up till today (fluids and impeller) but took it for a 5 min maiden spin after finishing the work before the weather went to ****.:evilb:

I keep forgetting to bring my camera, but will be getting some pics soon and posting them somewhere else (can't here) and I'll post a link.:drink:

I still have some work to do though, most of the gauges (tach, water pressure, oil pressure, speedo) aren't working. Hopefully it's a bad ground I'll find quick, but has anyone else had this?
