Hey Steve I have a good question. I told you before I worked on the tooling for the Sunsation 43 and have done many other smaller projects. I was talking to a friend yesterday and he was telling me how another boat builder "floats" out of the mold. I am well aware and have used air to pop a part. I will not mention the builder but was told they "float" the hull from the mold with water. I do understand the theory but would be worried about damage to the molds... Your thoughts???

Using water to release a tight part is common practice,This is less damaging than the more aggressive methods would be, reason being it is trying to seperate the Mold from the work piece ,where say a straight pull is applying force to the mold as well.
Thanks for asking. |
