price of 33 powerplay

what is a fair price on a 2002 33 with 496 ho's it is in great shape on a sweet trailer???????

Pete280 12-09-2011 08:33 PM

it seems 70k is what some would ask, I would say 50-55K, maybe I'm way off who knows

Indy 12-10-2011 07:27 AM

Mid 50s.

humpster 12-10-2011 08:08 AM

wow!! seems to be the right time for someone to buy a boat not so much for one selling it,:angry-smiley-038: crazy market

POWERPLAY J 12-10-2011 08:37 AM

An 02? You guys are nuts.

humpster 12-10-2011 10:29 AM

powerplay what do you think is fair a deal, might be happening between two friends that want to remain friends

POWERPLAY J 12-10-2011 11:45 AM

#1 book it out. 2# look at what other 32-33' in that year are asking or better yet, selling for. #3 determine price on availability (pretty Damn rare) #4 will financing be involved? #5 if so what does a surveyor value it at? #6 what is it worth to the purchasing party (how bad they want it)?

I know what I would be willing to pay and its more than posted here. It's a stunning example of a 33 Powerplay with low hrs and freshwater use.

No...the market blows, the boats are no longer made and there's 0 buzz about them. You can get wicked deals on bigger named boats well under $100 now which does nothing for the market on this boat. 5-6 years ago it's a different story. The market is going to trend lower for these offshore boats for the foreseeable future and it's almost 10 years old now. I sold my 10 year old PP in beautiful shape with an aluminum trailer when the market was much better shape for beans. I'll be surprised if it goes for more than mid 50s.

Us PP owners know the value of the boats but I fear the market will dictate otherwise.

Stormrider 12-10-2011 02:44 PM

So how far off is this seller?

You make sense and I do agree with most of what you say. I still believe it could go for a lil more than 50's.:)

Which one is this specifically? I think I know which one, and agree more than 50's, but probably not a lot more unfortunately.

humpster 12-10-2011 07:42 PM

i kinda side with indy on this one , i can't say anything bad about the powerplay at all great boat but if it gets into the 70's and up range then i would have to buy a 38 something but if it's in the 60 or below that is alot of boat for that price range

I think the boats are some of the best offshore boats ever made...period. My PP handled slop predictably with no quirks, no bone jarring hits, no rattles...nuttin. In fact the boat was a total bore unless the water was kicked up. I could have cared less that some OuterLimits could blow by me at 140, PP is a great old school beautifully crafted machine. I hope for the sellers sake it goes for beaucoup bucks, I hope for the buyers sake it sells cheap and another lucky buyer gets to own one of these beatuiful machines. I'm just really down on the market right now, and went through selling mine in a better market.

I'm a bit strange tho...most people here get wood over these big buck OLs, Skaters, Cigs, blah blah blah. My dream boat was always a PP and it met every one of my expectations and dreams.

humpster 12-10-2011 07:53 PM

LOL. I must be strange also. Had to have a Powerplay. Loved it and still love it now. Best riding and handling boat in its class I've been in.

I thought you were from Oceanport?

Only seem to recall that cuz I had a friend that lived on Branchport Creek.

baja280 12-16-2011 06:57 PM

jaysflatdeck 12-26-2011 01:32 PM

baja280 12-26-2011 06:54 PM

I already bid 75,000. Both sets of motors. And the Chevy truck......
