What model would you like to see first?? :evilb:

I voted twin egg beaters, however the smart money will be CC.

rchevelle71 01-12-2012 07:08 AM

Twin outboard, but 2 stroke, not Verados

POWERPLAY J 01-12-2012 07:40 AM

Why a 2-stroke? just out of curiosity...

Mainly just because I prefer them for performance, but also the boats COG was designed for the weight of 2 strokes.

Wally 01-12-2012 09:19 AM

what was the biggest/heaviest motor at the time when they were in production? I know the 350sci verado is only 134lbs heavier then the 300xs Optimax.....is 260lbs gonna make that big a difference on the back?? I dont know as i have not had a performance O/B before. :)

I would say the biggest heavyiest would have been the evinrude v-8 300. I am sure it would work with the Verado's, just not my preference.

hi wally, that weight difference will surely make a big difference. i have a 25pp with twin 300x's and those motors are a little heavy for the back so i did a little weight distribution to get the boat to
be balanced ok. so i think from first hand experience a pair of 300xs with a little weight distribution would be awsome.

Have you considered putting on a twin engine bracket box? I dont know if it would work in this case but i know they do add floatation.

I like to see a stand up owner/company make them...
I sure would hate to buy a boat and drive to florida to pick it up and find out its a pile of chit....

Wally 01-13-2012 09:46 AM

:drink: nice
They would only be making the fiberglassing/hull aspect of it...the rest of the assembly would be done by others.... :D ;)

boatnt 01-13-2012 09:55 AM

I think with a name like PowePlay you need somebody with integrity building them...

I would love to own a 25 PP but with that guy building them I would not give him the sweat of my a$$ for one..

Wally 01-13-2012 10:13 AM

Well they wouldnt be called that anymore.... :D
And he of course wouldn't have a hand in it other then having his guys do the work....but i understand your view on things. The nice thing about it is that Steve1 and Rusty have worked for him in the past along with a pair of laminators that used to work at powerplay can also be brought in to build the hull's if need be...so as far as that quality is concerned i wouldnt have any issues about it ;)

boatnt 01-13-2012 10:34 AM

With you involved Wally Im sure the quality will be 100%....

just knowing that someone would benefit thats less than honest is what makes this a $hitty deal..

But Hey ..maybe he could put a PP sticker on the side of that 6-7 year old center console he built and cant sell ...

J-Bonz 01-14-2012 11:21 AM

Isnt that the same boat that made it onto the cover of Hot Boat? I swear I have that issue

Powerplay25 02-17-2012 01:57 PM

Outboard boat with two strokes.

Flotation is great when your sitting still, all that air in the box dont do chit when yer flyin'

Twin O/B Sonic 02-20-2012 09:30 AM

That boat would be a turd w/Verado's on it.
The old V-8 OMC's were 550 lbs and actual weight of the Verado's I hear are approx. 150lbs heavier!
I lusted for a 25' PP until seeing one in persion. I'd love to replace my ancient Sonic w/something similar but the PP's cuddy is tiny compared to mine. IMO, you copuld raise the deck lines 3" or 4", keeping the same/similar looks w/a huge improvement to cabin space.

boomer 03-05-2012 07:46 AM

outboard but make sure you stretch the cockpit so there is room inside

TeamSaris 03-08-2012 09:55 PM

I wouldnt put twin Verados onit...too ass heavy

Powerplay25 03-09-2012 07:45 AM

Twin Verados would be much too heavy. The boat was designed with a pair of 2.5's hanging off the back.

Amen. Your motors are the perfect match...reliable hp with low weights
