My new 33
3 Attachment(s)
Recently I bought a 2002 33 out of Ontario w/ 496HO's. I couldn't be happier with the boat, it rides great and the condition is excellent. I had it at Torch Lake for its first week with me and while up there had the stereo upgraded with JL Audio subs and amp along with a new head unit. Currently with the 28's I am seeing a best of 77 but usually 75-76 on the GPS... Still figuring out the sweet spot. Here are a few shots-

That is sweat! Thanks for sharing, one day I tell myself, one day!

Gorgeous boat! Congrats!

Congrats!!
|
Not sure what Torch Lake is but once you get it out in big waters you'll really appreciate the boat.
Beautiful boat and good luck with it. BTW...are you hitting the rev limiters with the 28s? |
I touched the rev limiters a few times, going to do the whipple tune and bump them up and re-lab the props with Bblades. Hoping for 80-81

I put a bigger pulley on my SC and tested a 28bravo out of box, what a difference, no rev limit hit, cruise and wot where excellent! the graphics on your boat look awesome!

Just be careful it doesn't compromise your cruise or hole shot. I always went for best cruise because that's where I spend my time, I went 76 or 78 for a few minutes a summer I didn't want to waste my money on it nor did I care.
Propped for cruise. |
dont be a hater Jay... I'll withhold your Speedometer... :lolhit:

What nothing nice to say about how well the previous owner took care of her??
|
What a beautiful boat, looking forward to seeing it on St Clair.
Congrats. |

Awesome boat! I saw you were tied up next to a 33 Active Thunder. How does your boat compare in size to the AT? And I'm scared to ask, not wanting to start trouble, but how do they compare ride wise?
|
33 PP is better. Came from the guy with the 33 AT.
|
The 33 AT had more room in it... The flat deck on the Powerplay takes a bit of headroom out of the cabin but that's what I wanted so its give and take ya know? As far as ride, I've done poker runs on Jordan's AT and did Boyne on mine last year... I would have to give the ride to the Powerplay, it has impressed me a lot and although the AT did give a solid ride and was fast, it wasn't quite the ride that the PP had. Would like to have both! Lol
The AT will be about 3-4 mph faster with same power however. |
Thanks for the reply. I would assume the mph difference with same power is associated to the step/design of the At? Or maybe weight, but I have no clue what either boat weighs? I know I would rather have a better ride than the last 3 or 4 mph, so that's exactly the info I was looking for.

The AT will be about 3-4 mph faster with same power however. In all seriousness, you do drive an AT a bit different. The DDC hull is designed to land on the step, not the transom. There is a slight learning curve to get the most out of the hull as far as ride is concerned. All it takes is a throttle control. |
That is probably the case, I'm not sure bc that's the only 33 AT I have ridden in... But I'm impressed with the 33PP none the less, this one will be with me for a while

Yea Andrew I think you did the bait and switch! Both times I came to look at it the 525's were in it then -poof- all of a sudden the HO's were in it!
Damn Canadians! |

Thanks! It shows like new, it was very well cared for and one of the few freshwater only 33's. I really like your phantom, if I didn't have this boat I would probably have that yellow phantom in the classifieds in my driveway:D
|
The Phantom is a bad ass ride to be sure but you have no slouch either. The PP's show real well. It was a real toss up for me whether to break ranks and sit down or stand up. All in all I know I made the right choice for what I wanted. Strangely enough the one thing that chaps me is I have be careful with dock lines cause they slide overboard in a half of second. LOL Still , I like how clean yours looks.
|
Team Powerplay S.E. MI chapter checking in. :thankyouthankyou:
They did look good next to each other. Turn the music down next time or I will just let her idle... :lolhit: |
